Having said that - Makedde's comment still cracks me up. Just read 3-4 times over and you see the absurdity of it. Hilarious.
I agree that if you read it word by word, it sounds absurd, but I know what she means. Take Munich 2011 for example - it sounded great while at the concert, and when you watch the live stream you notice that the vocals were off here and there. Ok, during songs like Always and These Days, you even noticed it at the concert itself (though I'm ok with that), but most of the time the people sang so loudly (including myself) that you wouldn't notice while there...

Bad example, I was at the Munich 2011 with Seb and we both instantly said to each other that Jon sounded shit from the beginning.

You again Well, I guess then you were standing somewhere else (I was a little left behind the middle of the GA), makes all the difference.

Though "sounded shit" is the same old discussion - are you talking about not hitting notes or just not sounding like would like him to sound? (e.g. that horrible voice he had in the 80s? )

We were at the back of the GC (just check the webcast, look for an ugly tall guy in a jeans jacket with glasses (that's Seb)).

I've recorded that full show on audio, in case you need proof.

No, I believe you - as I said, I noticed it on the stream too. Question was just are you talking about real errors or does it come down to taste? And I'm not talking about the occasial note that's slightly off, he's been doin' that for a long time now...

As I said previously, Jon's voice suddenly declined by the time they performed in South Africa and went that way for the rest of the tour.

It's so noticeable in his performances of Always, being a semitone lower in KTF, WITW, and LIS; and falling flat on the whole chorus of Bad Name. He also sounds more nasal than ever, even in notes we wouldn't imagine him pulling off nasally.

Didn't know that about South Africa, haven't watched any videos from there yet. But something definitely happend then or before Japan. Compared to now, everything was fine in the summer...

I might be wrong, but I think this is the worst performance of Keep the Faith that I've ever seen from Jon.

You reckon his vocals were off? I'd like to see you get up on a stage in front of 50,000 people and sing like he does. He might have sounded like shit to you, but 99.99% of people who paid to attend that show loved every minute of it. Probably because they weren't waiting for him to stuff up so they could laugh about it later.

The only thing I noticed, that no one else did, was his mistake in BWC (forgot the second verse). That was all. Yet I didn't come back here and giggle about it. Because its not a big deal.

That said, do we have an idea of how many people attended that night?

You seem to be one of those who's incapable of understanding that no one goes to a concert for the purpose of hearing mistakes, but quite a few on here pick up on them because they're actually listening to the music. You don't pick up on most of what happens on stage and that's fine, most people don't. Just don't tell others "his voice was fine" when there's a shitload of youTube videos showing it was far from fine. And yes; some might even notice these things in concert. While being there. How's that for logic?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
