Yes, odds are we are going to be given the same album cuts for the millionth tour in the row but I'm hoping hoping hoping we don't. We complain when there's too much tech and video we complain when there's less and say "why now?" there needs to be a middle ground where we just see what happens.
Really?? Who was complaining? And when exactly?

They've never been U2, but I always considered 2010-2013 to be a good time for the band in terms of production.

I remember my dad (who went with me to one of the London O2 shows in 2010) was really impressed with arena stage setup and moving screens. I was too!

If anything they should go even more overboard with this, as to compensate for poor performance. But I guess this has to do with return on investment on a such small no. of dates (compared to much longer tours in the past).

I read on Spain Bon Jovi (a really great and reliable Facebook page) that they have a South America tour booked for September and also a European Tour that will be announced only if everything will be ok with Jon's and Tico's health on the upcoming North America tour!

Apparently at the Q&A yesterday they said that More Canada dates later this year and outdoor shows and other countries in 2018.

This makes the Rock in Rio date an odd one since it will truly be a one off if they are indeed not planning on touring out of the states until 2018.....

Apparently Jon has confirmed:
- 3 Brazil shows in September (1 of which is Rock in Rio already announced)
- Australia in 2018

Sorry, just read this now. There has been dozens of people complaining during the most recent tours. The argument was being made that they couldn't deviate from the setlist because of the production, the video cues and lights were tied to songs and people would make the argument that they would a bare bones stage if it meant a more varied setlist.

I never bought the correlation between the two, the production and the setlist. If they feel like playing a song the can just play it without the big cues I felt.

The argument about the screens and lights were nonsense to he honest. There's always people looking for excuses, but there was a good few default modes with the screens which allowed for plenty of other songs. It's simply down to Whether Jon is willing and able to perform a certain song.

Yeah, that's pretty nonsensical. They only had those special videos for a few songs (Prayer, Faith, Follow, Working Man, HAND and perhaps a couple of others). The rest of the set was simply screens filming the band.

I completely agree with you on this but I find it quite laughable that the band actually twittered exactly this as an excuse in 2010 and blamed the lack of variation in the setlist on something like this.
