But in a way, you reap what you sow when you buy those inflated price tickets, packages with t shirts & bags or the Runaway Tours stuff as they see you as a cash cow to be milked and they are very much doing it with these packages. So for those people, yes it's unfortunate but it's not a shock they are taking you for a ride, it just depends how far they can push it until the bite back becomes too much and they don't sell any.
However, with no European dates yet I can't judge what it'll be here and don't know enough on the US market to comment on normal tickets. For me £100 face value is always the ceiling, although more like £50-80 if I want friends to come, they will turn their noses up at anything more than that.
Its a bit different here with the stadium shows, the value tends to be a bit better, but I think they're on the cusp of going down to arenas unless the album is a mega hit, and so the prices may be higher to compensate.
But, thankfully there is the positive mentions for the music out there to outweigh some of the negativity over tickets.

We may have seen the same blog. The comments I read seemed to be primarily from ladies who were outraged because the prices had jumped too high for them to get close enough to have a chance at touching Jon, and they were boycotting because their couldn't justify supporting a band who, in their opinions, had become so disrespectful of their loyal fans. But like you say, if you feed the animals long enough, chances are good that one day you'll get bit.
It also seems to me that the Runaway packages being offered in conjunction with the Ft. Lauderdale, LA, and Vegas shows are a little steeper than usual. But that may be because the whole band is performing instead of just Jon with the KOS.
I can't say how the regular tickets compare to past prices here in the states since I've only been able to attend two shows; and one of those tickets was purchased by a friend who follows concert tickets like a hawk, regardless of the artist, and always seems to find amazing deals. (The other one I won't even comment on, except to say that, due to my own stupidity, I lost my shirt in a Craigslist swindle!)
