Amen. Finally it seems there's some effort in the show.

This is actually something you should notice, as you're saying you're a guitar player. What's so fascinating about Richie recently?

This other guitar player shows up and guitar solo's are different again, things get mixed up in the performance, Bobby is suddenly a lot better and the entire guitar sound is a lot less sloppy and has a bit more edge. Just because you are the Richie fanboy doesn't mean that it can't be a better performance without Richie. If anything, Richie has proven right now that he actually can be replaced.

Spectacular or not, it works. I don't feel like he's doing the same licks over and over again to a point where it's too repetitive, he has got lazier i'll admit that, but it hasn't got to a point where I'm bored of what he's playing.

The other guitar player shows up, the solos are different, but they're worse. I'd rather have Richie playing the same thing every single night and it sound better than this new guy (which it does). Furthermore, you're basing this on one show, what's to say Phil X won't play the same licks every single show? The performance did sound different, it was much worse, the guitar sound wasn't as good (in my opinion) both in songs with the freedom to improvise and those where the structure is pretty set (such as Bad Name where i seem to remember Phil using a clean tone which sounded silly). The guitar sound isn't less sloppy, it wasn't sloppy in the first place. And you're right, it could be a better performance without Richie, this wasn't it though.

Richie has more charisma in his little finger than this new guy. I have absolutely no interest in seeing the band without Richie.

The soul is gone.

Don't know about this guy but I agree with the rest. Richie needs to stay.
