I've voted for 2008. Great to see the band is getting better this tour.

But if a rocker from These Days I'd rather love Hey God....

I do think in 2008 he's more worried about the vocals whereas in 2003 hes more "into" the song and less worried about the vocals.

2008 sounds better but watching the video i think 03 is the better performance.

And this has little to do with the fact that I was at the Toronto show

Which videos did you watch!? In the 2003 one he really screamed 'Damned' but then very much avoided singing other parts properly - this time he was softer on singing 'Damned' but then had obviously been practising the rest as he did a better job.

He also avoids singing Bad Name properly most of the time but through body language seems into the song.

I thought it was a better band performance thats all. He seemed more worried about getting it all right rather than just letting loose and singing the song.

Yes, vocally he was much better this time around if your goal is to hear the song as close to the album version as possible.

Either way id love to see it every night.

Is it just me or did Jon grab his crotch in 03?

Anyway I voted for 08, better band performance and Jon sounds good (singing properly rather than screeching )

08 by a country mile. I can see why people might be tempted to think 03 because of the 'damned' but that is done with no control over his voice. The lack of control in Jon's voice was a feature of the Bounce tour. Now he can moderate it better and knows how to get the best out of it.

That's what I call overreacting. I mean this performance is very good but it definately doesn't top the 1995/1996 versions of this great song.
