OK, now I see where you're coming from.

Also, Damned features one of Bon Jovi's grooviest riffs. I love the bluesy-rock fusion sound of the song, and like ticos_stick said, the solo is a work of art. LOVE the wah-wah effects in it.

I wasnt always a fan of it, then again I wasnt always a fan of These Days.

It is an awesome track though. One of the best riffs on a Jovi song.

its a good song, but imo the weakest song on the album. I'd rather they play If Thats What It Takes over Damned if they have to play something off These Days.

Then again i'd rather they play something rare from the first or second album, maybe come back.

Indeed it does... that is really funny. I laughed out loud.

Because of those 12 songs.

I kinda like that I was in Europe when TD came out because it was 14 songs, and speaking of Diamond Ring and 14 songs, I preferred Bitter Wine- and still do.

I like Diamond Ring though, but mainly because of the guitar.

I love Damned.

It's Something for the Pain that to me sinks TD somewhat. Still can't get my mind around that song. It's the only one that to me sounds just as bad now as back then. All the other songs make These Days one of those albums that (to me) aged better than it was initially, because all the songs aged well except SFTP.

Weakest song on the album?

I think you need to listen to it a few more times. It's probably the most powerful song on These Days, it's loud, has a wicked guitar solo and has the fastest tempo on the These Days album. Might be your least favorite on the album, but it sure ain't the weakest.

I prefer Bitter Wine to Diamond Ring. The harmony on that song... so good. As well as the not so typical jovi lyrics.

As far as Something for the pain goes... I still love that song. It really is the only pop/rock song on the record. Lyrically it belongs on the album (with a pop edge) and musically, while more catchier than most of the rest of the record, I think the album needed it. Live, is another story. I never thought they were able to pull it off live. The lyrics are too fast especially with harmony parts... sounds pretty cluttered. That being said, I am greatful that we got the acoustic version this tour. But you are right... there is nothing dated about that album. It is every bit as brilliant today as it was 15 years ago.

As others have said, Damned is one of their best grooves. Also, I'm in agreement that it's a great live track.

Great, great track! I think it's a fun song for the entire band to play, and it's pity they dont rotate it more. Even though KTF is an amazing song I wouldn't mind it being rotated with Damned every now and then !

Amazing song that is! I heard it twice live, in 1996 and 2008, and it rocked both times. Wish they'd play it more. Before TD came out, I read an article where Jon said sth about each song of the upcoming album, and about "Damned" he said he couldn't wait to play this one live. Considering this, it took them quite long to actually dust it off. Was it even performed in 1995 at all? I just might go to check some setlists now. EDIT: Yes they did!

The weakest track, or let's say, the track I care about the least on this fantastic album is "Hearts Breaking Even".
