I hope you're wrong too.

You're really off the deepend, man. Stop hijacking every thread to try to prove MSG will be a historic show. There's going to be 60,000 people at this concert, and you think just because you talked to a handful of people who knew some songs that it's going to be a load of diehards? Come on.

Your need to debate the definition of 'diehard' is not worthwhile. Just face it, this show is equivalent to what they did in Times Square for the NFL back in 2002. Granted this may be a longer (and hopefully far better) show, but can you remember how many rarities they played during that 'historic' event?

No one remembers them playing in Times Square, and a few years from now no one will remember them playing in Central Park. Who cares? Just hope for a high energy performance and great renditions of all the classics. That's really what this comes down to. I don't think you or your friend will have a bad time if that's the case. If were going to get any rarities, it'll be at MSG (if we're lucky).

Not really... actually any Giants stadium show will probably come in second to the 2001 Hershey Stadium show if David really thinks about it. Hershey sucked butt. The band was about a million miles away from the audience, no interaction what-so-ever, and a horribly, horribly short show.

As to how David really remembers all the details for his reviews, it's very simple... he cheats... Of course he has his notepad full of chicken-scratch, but alot of it comes from digging through the memories of his beautiful, wonderful, marvelous, simply adorable wife.

Great review to read, certainly brightened up my lunch as I was marooned inside with torrential rain coming down outside! I have a great image of the two of you driving home - one at the wheel and one on the laptop, that's dedication for you

Just because there is going to be 60,000 people at this concert doesn't mean it won't be a historic event. Do you know how many great bands have played Central Park? Apparently not. I am going in with the attitude that anything can and/or will happen at the Central Park show. The Times Square concert had 13 songs: It's My Life, Wanted, Everyday, Prayer, Bad Name, Born To Be My Baby, Just Older, Undivided, Bounce, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, Bad Medicine/ Shout, and America the Beautiful. For the length of that setlist, I'd say it's damn good. Now Central Park will be almost double that. I wouldn't even compare Central Park to that concert anyway, but if you are, than well you pretty much are saying that Central Park is going to get a great show already.

Regards,

Jason F.

I've missed reading your reviews Dave. Thanks for the amazing level of detail and for taking the time to write it up.
