I just got home and I will disagree with what has been said. This was the 7th time I've seen the boys and this was an amazing show. Sure the Setlist had no surprises, bar old time rock and roll, but the energy was through the roof. I think it was clear that Jon was saving himself for tomorrow nite. I did find it strange that there was no mention of tomorrow nights show. Regardless, I think tomorrow will be even better (Setlist wise) !!!!!

P.s. Sleep when I'm dead + Medley was the most fun ive ever had a a jovi gig!! Great show, can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!!

For a band with a 30 year catalog, the highlight of the show should not be a cover medley.

Agree with you, not sure why I bothered to check here for reaction. Same comments, same people - who weren't there...we had a blast and the band clearly was as well, energy was amazing.

That setlist, what a disgrace. Even not having been there I know it sucked.

Less medley, more BJ please.

Congratulations! You've won most moronic comment in the thread! Can you come to Australia to claim your prize?

QUICK REVIEW;

This was a very good concert. The atmosphere was electric - much better than I had been expecting. Obviously, as a die hard, I would have loved to have had some rarities in there but there is no denying that performance wise and in terms if the crowd, last night was exactly what a rock concert should be.

Also, the sound was, again, much better than I thought it would be given the size of the stadium. Jon was pretty clear throughout the night and his vocals held up well with no noticeable squeaks or duff ups. The only mistake was the solo of It's My Life never happened - Phil X's talk box mic set up didn't work for some reason.

Whole Lot of Leaving. A song I like and despite the fashion on this board to dis it, it went down well and the break after 'Do we got it anymore?' produced one of the loudest cheers of the night. I like it on cd and it enjoy it live.

Was good to get Diamond Ring but Richie is missed hugely when they play it.

The medley was certainly fun but I don't see what peoples problem with it is. Depends on your taste whether or not this is the 'show highlight'.

Jon was not static at the mic at all. He was bouncing around and strutting all night - and made use of the ramp round the pit.

Basically it was a solid show - the noise produced by the crowd after Prayer was monstrous and I was really surprised they didn't do one more. The entire band ran down the strairs pretty quickly after they bowed and left Jon to look at the audience... He kind of looked like he regretted letting the band leave the stage and realised he should have done another....

Hopefully he held back for tonight's show.

Last night was my 17th Bon Jovi concert. I would say that it was 'good'. Jon seemed to be struggling with his voice and was static on the high note songs. He was straining and seemed to be a millisecond off beat in the higher pitch songs. Not having Richie there is a definite downer(unless you're female and all you care about is Jon's ass)

Was also expecting that this being the first full bon jovi concert at an 80,000 seat former Olympic stadium in Australia's biggest city, that the setlist would have been London, Milan, Munich, Giants stadium style(it was last time they came to Sydney)

That aside, Jon did try hard and the last hour was better than the rest. Just disappointed that the main set list has moved more towards middle of the road rock. Livin in Sin, Blood on Blood, Always, Bed of Roses? All Bon Jovi concerts should have either Always or Bed of Roses...at a minimum.

Anyways, hoping for a better night two.

That just really hasn't happened anywhere this tour sadly, not Slane, not London, not the Metlife.
