If YOU have authority to say what you do about Bon Jovi then how come Jon doesn't have it! He's a lot more credible when it comes to rock music than you are!

Tom's much more credable as.... a) Tom has very long rock hair, Jon doesn't. b) Tom is playing 100% rock music, Jon isn't.... c) Tom hasn't sold his soul to comercialism, and the modern market, Jon has. d) Tom plays in my band, which instantly makes him all knowing when it comes to music
