In Holland, due to the "brilliant" idea of being put up with a soccer match before the show, many people return their tickets. Ticketmaster already said people would have to wait before they'd get there money back because so many decided not to go anyway. Rumours are going that only 15.000 of the 50.000 have already been sold.

Ticket sales in Belgium are also disappointing. That venue is also far from sold out and even Gold Circle tickets are still available. Many people think it's way too expensive, and I'm not paying 100E either for a ticket in Belgium. It's just too much.

Are the tides turning? Are people finally fed up with the high ticket prices? Anywhere else in Europe or even America where it's this bad?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Certainly in the UK the bands popularity is not what is was. The last 2 or 3 albums have not sold very well and I guess that will have a knock-on effect to the tour.
I think it will show in the crowds that unfortunately they are seen more as a nostalgia act than people wanting to see them for their recent music.
Sad but true.

With all of these details you gotta wonder if they will come back to Canada soon as we sold out all of the shows especially the 5 Toronto ones. London is about 2 hours away and sold that one out too. Montreal is a guaranteed sellout as is Vancouver.

In the UK my Foo Fighters tickets at the City of Manchester Stadium Ga have cost £47.50 inc bookong fee whereas my Bon Jovi Gold Circle were £86 inc booking fee. The Bon Jovi GA tickets actually cost less than FF, they are coming in at £37.50. I agree with what someone said earlier, it is th GC prices that have spoilt things for us die hards.Lets remember that all tickets in the Uk were once GA and the GC tickets were free on a first come first served basis!!!

hey there!
in austria 35,000 tickets went on sale- GA costs 62€; yet there are 2800 tickets available from which 2600 are GA and 200 some strange sitting tickets. so it's gonna sell out for sure.
me for one, i'm not going- the first austrian concert since the these days tour which i'm not gonna attend; but to add a point to your discussion: since 2000 they've even managed to lose some of their so-called die hards (which is, by definition, a difficult task to do); maybe it's because their die-hards (in this special case: me) grow older while bj focuses on teenage kids and whatever the market seems to offer (i.e. country).

I just refuse to pay the prices for GC. For the Bounce tour I could afford to do 5 shows and was in the fan club, so got upfront.

For HAND I could've only afforded 2 shows GC and not the fan club.

Now I'm just doing 2 shows in GA. I don't see why they introduced the Gold Circle except a way of milking money. The problem is, everyone else seems happy to pay it, so it's going to stay in place.

Gold Circle is a joke.

What's this stuff about a footy match in Holland? Who's playing? It does seem a bit strange O.o

It's a match between Holland versus France. They probably thought that the disappointing ticket sales were because of many people staying home to watch football. Now the opposite has happened, many people return their tickets because they don't want to watch football, and don't want to get home in the middle of the night.

Sebastiaan

Hang on, am I getting confused..? Do you mean they thought the sales were shit because its on at the same time / before the gig - hence people can't be arsed to watch that then go out to a gig?

or are we talking the match is at where the gig is?!

Euro 2008 has no interest for me anymore btw
