The fan club ticketing method is completely archaic. Only with Bon Jovi's fan club does the club put an extra burden on the members to be able to take advantage of "perks." Only Bon Jovi fans will be found sleeping out in the rain, wind, snow, and hail trying desperately to get ONE ticket. Only Bon Jovi fans travel hundreds of miles for the CHANCE to buy ONE ticket because the club that they join only caters to "locals." Bon Jovi plays the same areas of the country and completely ignores vast territories of the USA and Canada but their fan club does NOTHING to help their fans in those areas. The fan club tickets are only good if you live in certain metropolitan areas or have the time and money to make two trips for every show you want to attend.

And then they say they don't support scalpers... bullshit. They're system encourages people to use brokers because it's cheaper to go for a sure pair of tickets than to make the extra trip to the venue.

GOOD tickets don't have to be in the first ten rows. Every other fan club on the planet is able to reserve tickets through ticketmaster or other outlets, but the fan club of one of the biggest bands in the world can't be bothered with that.

Whats really sad is that most backstagers claim that they pay the $40 to get those seats but the real reason is so they can sit on that message board all day.

Honestly, I don't think the intention is to cash in quickly. I do think, though, that the fanclub is completely archaic (as Becky pointed out) and that whoever runs it has no clue about how to run a business nor does anybody of the band loose sleep over how the fans are treated either.

So after all, you're paying 40 dollars for er, nothing. I'm sure that if you'd give me 40 dollards, I'd be giving you more than backstage does, don't you think? My banknumber is : 43321153. 30 dollars is also allowed.
So, ehm, what exactly will $40 buy me? And what for $30?

not really. If I only cared about the sound, I'd put on a cd at home - some venues have shitty sound and that is not exactly what I pay for. I want to SEE the band as well, hence I don't even get tickets for GA. I am too old to fight my way to the front - I want my assigned seat so I can nurse my ADD and shop for merchandise during Right Side of Wrong

I prefer the old days when you just had to get there early and run for the front but yet still pay the same price as everyone else .The only problem with this was getting back to your spot from the beer tent
