Apart from a few seats left they sold out nearly every stadium. Most succesful rock tour in 2009 by a mile

But, they didn't sell out every show. And their tickets were dirt cheap too.

They didn't, but they have a 360 stage.

For example, Bon Jovis stage at Rogers Center is like so:

And U2's is like:

And U2 pretty much sold everything out. Mostly only single-seat tickets were available. Also, U2 had a larger lower bowl, plus general admission, giving even more people fit on the floor.

I was referring to the European shows.

I suppose AC/DC did quite well last year. And Black Ice the album sold millions, right?

I'm not sure to be honest. The only thing I can say though is from a marketing perspective I wouldn't be surprissed if they sell it as the "last o2 show" and then add another date later that they can also sell as "the last o2 show". Then all the people who went to the first "last o2 show" would need to buy tickets for the last "last o2 show" if that makes any sense.

Sigh - dirt cheap ??? The standing tickets were about 70 EUro (about 61 Pounds) which is ok but the seating tickets were expensive from 100 Puonds up to 150 Pounds. I do not call this dirt cheap ?!?

Their biggest run in London to date is three nights at Wembley - Appx. 200k people.

Their O2 residency is ten nights - Appx 200k people. Paying on average three or four times as much as they were 15 years ago (even adjusted for inflation).

And let's be honest, with the shows involving considerably less rehearsal than they may have back then.

I'm sure they're losing sleep.

you compare apples with bananas The Wembley nights were on a regular "TOUR" with even more dates in UK and all over Europe. This residence is all about the "ONLY" European shows in 2010. If there was a proper tour they would not play for 10 nights as they would not sell at all.
