Seriously, I don't understand why people say this. When he plays with other bands he's not any better, it's just that it doesn't become as obvious that he's this average because the guitar solo's he does for those bands are very easy to do. I've heard pretty much the entire Southside Johnny discography and have yet to find 1 remarkable thing he does. He's good for the occasional riff here and there but when it comes to being a good player he's low on the list. Anyone can teach himself how to play riffs others have played before, it's pretty much the easiest thing to do.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I completely agree ... I doubt that Jon ever said to him - "Bobby, you're going to get a solo ... but don't make it too good, otherwise people will start paying to much attention on you" ... He just can't make it ... Take a look at his solo on Any other day live from the LH concert: he was given a chance to shine and only managed to play 2 or 3 notes, just like he does on In these arms ...

IMO, leave him there to be a rhythm player (even though he screwed up on Dry County in Brussels 2008, when he completely lost the rhythm) , but keep him away from any solo.

He's a decent back up guitarist and does the job of beefing up the guitar sound well enough, its just baffling that he gets let loose on any solos as it doesn't call for it at all. It can only be that Jon is throwing him a bone and giving him a simple solo for a moment in the spotlight.

Yeah, he's a fantastic singer. He's not much on lead guitar playing, but he seems to be a really nice guy but there's really no escuse for a proffesional guitar player to play solos like the one he did on I'd die for you where half the notes were out of key. Just embarrasing.....

Sorry Sebastian, but I think you should have see more videos from his live perfomances and listen some of his solo records (here you can listen some of them: http://www.myspace.com/bobbybandiera). I used to think he was a terrible guitarist player, but when I really start to investigate how a good guitaris was I can see that I was completely wrong.

Of course he is not as Sambora, even they play diferent music styles. Bandiera is a very good classic rock&roll guitarist and singer. Listed to only one of the solo rifts of her songs on myspace and you will understand why In These Arms solo can't be a decission of Bandiera, Jon is the frontman and he says what every band member have to do.
