Default Does it ever feel like too much of a hassle?

Many of us travel for Bon Jovi concerts because they don't play locally. Do you ever feel like it's too much trouble--the schedule, time off work, the cost of the tickets, frustration of not being able to get good tickets without spending a fortune (those of us in the USA who can't travel to buy a ticket), cost of traveling and hotels... and when you get there you hear mostly the same songs you've heard before. So, why do you keep doing it? Is it that they put on such a great show you want to see it even if it is repetitive? Is it being with your fellow Jovi fans/friends? There's a lot of complaining, but when it comes down to it, we put a lot of time, effort, and money into seeing this band... so why do we do it? Why do YOU do it?

they are basically the best show i've ever been to. Maybe not th best performance but I do feel something for this band and the songs that are being played, even if I've heard them before it's still magical to me. I won't be traveling for this tour since I'm on a budget this year, I was kinda hoping they would play a show in Puerto Rico on this one, I guess there's still hope since they're still some left to announce but I ain't counting on it.

well, I know you addressed this to the people that DO travel, but I shall have my input anyway

I don't travel for BJ or anybody else. To me driving an hour north to a show is a major hassle and I only do it for really important shows - such as audioslave and velvet revolver I missed at least 8 shows this summer because I couldn't be arsed to go to shows that require me sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours.

Guess I am spoiled. There are still more shows than I can afford to within a half hour drive.....

Tickets are already expensive enough. No band is worth doubling or tripling the price because of travelling.

The only show that would have me considering a travel would be a one in a lifetime experience, which everyone that's been to more than one BJ show knows it's not the case for BJ.

Pink Floyd's last show ever, Beatles reunion or such would do it though...

For a person like me, who has never been fortunate to have the opportunity to see them, I'm really looking forward to buying my tickets, and waiting for the show to trickle. I find that I don't care what the price is or where it is at. I just want to go see the band I love. When January 15th rolls around... It'll be one of the best and most exciting days of my life. It's going to be great!

I've been asking myself this question A LOT in the past couple days, Becky. LOL Funny you should bring it up. What the heck keeps me enthralled with this band? Why do I spend so much time, effort, money and stress over this band? Truthfully, I can't come up with a clear, concise answer... I hold to the line in 'Last Man Standing.'

"I don't know where it's going but we all know where it's been..."

There are alot of things about them that, in my mind, aren't as good as they used to be but I'm still hooked. I don't think I'll ever love anyone's voice as much as I love Jon's. It hooked me 11 years ago and hasn't let go... And yet, something is missing, for me, within his solo albums so it's not all about Jon's voice.

Does it ever feel like too much hassle? DEFINITELY! LOL I've been feeling it ever since tour dates were announced but something always brings me back... and I'm in love with that flippin' band all over again. LOL A lot of it does have to do with the comradery between the fans and between the band...

I like the music, the new one and the older stuff. And I will spend a lot of money to see them play Wembley. Its for me about the music, I guess I complain a lot of Jons ego, but it got nothing to do with the shows...Its by the way only my third show, so I havent got bored with the same set list and so on

Nope never feels like any bit of hassle to me.
The atmosphere in Dublin is just unexplainable. You have to be there to know what it feels like. Its worth everything you have gone through to get there. It never entered my head not to go to Dublin. This year I am going further in that Im going to Wembely. I think that show will be worth every penny.

As for hearing them playing the same songs...it doesnt bother me. If I went to 15 shows in a row and they played the same at each show...well to me its still different, different venue, different people, different night.

Yeah, it is too much of a hassle, which is why I don't do it anymore. Not worth it. The tickets are too expensive, they never play anywhere near me and the show's been boring for the last 5 years.

Aloha !

No. Tickets were easy to get, and if I don't get tickets well then so be it. It's not like it'll be very special this time.

Salaam Aleikum,
