If you could have the choice of having Dry County again after hearing it 4 times at past tours or getting another gem like Something To Believe In, Hey God, Damned or Wild Is The Wind you haven't heard before, wouldn't you pick one of the latter 4?

I realize chances are slim you'll hear Dry County if you're in America but considering they played it 3 times on the last UK leg in 2008 most die hards from the UK and Europe have heard it multiple times now. I enjoy when I get it, but whenever I get it I also know that chances are slim of getting a gem I've not heard in a long time like what happened in Manchester and Munich.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a year ago or so, I remember you saying you "don't want to hear rare songs, you want to hear their best songs" and you "wouldn't mind if they play their best songs 'x' (insert a number, I think you said 25, but I may be wrong) times in a row". If that's the case, you're being a hypocrite. Unless you're going to say that DC is not one of their best songs.

Going to Jovi shows and being tired of Dry County equals going to multiple Springsteen shows and being tired of Jungleland or going to GN'R shows and being tired of November Rain. Songs like these are what we call signature songs. These are the songs that do the best job at representing they're respective performers. It's not about it being popular. It's about showing what these artists do best when they play these songs. It's about being a fan and showing these songs to your friend to impress him and show him these artists at their best. If you really have gotten tired of Dry County live, maybe it's time to stop going to Jovi shows.

And for what reason they should stop doing Dry County? Because there are 500 die hards inside a 60,000 capacity stadium and the small minority of those die hards consider themselves too good to hear this song live for the 5th time or so? Like Seb said, it's European shows we're talking about, so do you realize that there are probably like 10-20k people in that crowd who probably don't consider themselves diehards, but they own the KTF album (I'm definitely not unerestimating this number considering how big the band were in Europe in the 90s) and if they own that album, do you think it's Sleep, Fear, Woman or Mother are songs that left their jaws dropped? The mix from last night's Hyde Park show can also be used as evidence about how people want to hear Dry County and it's more than just a diehard song these days.

Furthermore, while Jovi lose some fans they also gaine some new ones, like myself and numerous others can be seen on this board. I really don't think that younger (or newer) fans would trade Dry County for a half-assed rare album cut (eg. Wild Is The Wind, One Wild Night, Undivided, etc.). So it's selfish from a few diehards' side to wish not to get DC. Remember, that not too long ago, you'd all go apeshit for songs like DC, TD and even Always. So now that you've seen them all a few times they should stop playing them despite the fact these all are popular songs from the most succesful time period for this band in Europe? In my book, they're finally doing something right by playing different sets in NA and Europe, because different songs are popular in these continents and the raritys they chose to play are good choices. What's next? The next tour they should stop playing Something To Believe In, because a few English and Dutch diehards decided they've heard that song enough?

I really love Dry County. I was hoping for them to play it live for the last 12 years. Back in Düsseldorf in 2006 it was the greatest surprise ever(even with the improvised solo by Richie) But I think I got spoilt since I heard it two times in a row. It is the same with TD: They played it at the last 3 gigs I went to.

And even though these two songs are always two of my highlights, I want something special again like WITW and STBI in Edinburgh. Even though the performances weren't the best it was still special and that is what I expect from a perfect gig: I want Dry Caounty, These Days AND at least one song that is unexpected.

Seriously, do ppl even read posts before they start spouting shit? Never once said that nor would I want them to. The problem is that Jon views it as rare. It isnt. Don't play DC instead of a rarity and think you've pleased *all* the fans.

I love 'Dry County' and it's great to hear live. I've only been to two Bon Jovi shows and heard it both times. Other people have been to about twenty and never heard it. There has to be a balance struck somewhere. 'Dry County' should be a song played about fifteen times a tour, evenly proportioned between America/Europe/Australia/South America etc.

I wish it would become a part of the standard set as I've still yet to see/hear it live!

Like Carli said, read what the actual argument is before you post a long rant as to you not having had Dry County before but others have. None of what you just posted made any sense into what the actual reason for the initial subject of the matter is.

While I do like them to mix it up, that does not mean for a second that I would ever want them to stop playing great songs.

I do believe there's room for DC + more gems/rarities. But I don't think it's too much to wish for both, rather than no DC.

I totally agree! If they play a 3-hour-set there should be room for both!

I agree with Carli to an extent. They should only play Dry County in London
