I'm really tired of songs that don't belong the status that they have in the set. WSYCGH, LH, WGIGO, WWBTF, ISWID to name a few are songs that I'm tired of listening in every bootleg that I have, none of them are great songs that you can enjoy every time that you heard them. But in my book songs like Always, Dry County, Blood On Blood, These Days or Someday I'll Be Saturday Night deserve to be staples. I don't care to hear a rare song... I want to hear their best stuff always.

This is the most shocking thread I have read on JT since I joined it, really. But of course everyone’s entitled to have an opinion and I really don’t have time to argue about it, I will just write mine opinion instead.

Let me make myself really clear. There is only one reason I am going to Dublin this week – DC! I have seen the band 4 times so far, including 3 shows last year and I have never heard it live so far. Never. And this one has been at the very top of my list since forever. I chose Dublin for my only shows this year only because with two back-to-back shows it doubles my chances to hear this one particular song. I am paying an invaluable price for this (and I am not talking about the money, even though I am paying shitload of money for Polish standards that none of my friends could afford to go with me) but I will write about it more when I am back after the shows.
I am a die-hard who’s been with this band for almost 20 years now and this song is a pure definition of BJ music in my opinion. Everything in it is amazing, with the main Richie solo being the Mount Everest of his whole incredible legacy.

I can only argue why it’s not a staple. Only that. I think it shouldn’t be a rarity in the first place. Just like TD. But unfortunately both are. And limiting it to only few appearances on every tour is insane to say the least, imo. Having it only few times on the tour will not make it any more magical. For me this song is magical not because it’s rare, it’s magical because it’s a f***ing masterpiece from start to finish. I don’t want them to play rare shit songs, I want to play their best tracks and DC is without a doubt one of the best things rock music has ever seen or heard.

Well I hadn't seen it live before, somehow kept missing the shows it was played at so i was SO ridiculously excited and emotional during the performance. Jon was outstanding and Richie just was insane on the solo so I for one am so happy they played it.

No doubt in my mind it will get played at Dublin - and so it should. However, IF they played it both nights (dont think they will) I would be annoyed yes as MOST diehards are going to both nights.

Nice argument though, its hard to argue about the rare songs andf Yeah me and a few others do get hung up on them. But thats why I've been going to multiple nights for the last ten years as they do change their setlist. I know of bands who do one set for a whole tour, that would do my head in.

If I'm honest this post is more in reference to Manchester not last night. We knew we'd only get one rarity with the horrible conditions and they play this after doing it in Manc for the last 3 tours. Why don't they check previous shows setlists? Stands to reason that if ppl go to one show it's their local one so most will have heard it at Manchester before.
Well I got it at Manc/Twickers(both nights IIRC) last tour (plus Manc on the HAND tour)and Manc on friday, and it never bores me, the solo especially gives me goosebumps every time. Keep it coming I say. Now if youd said Captain Crash or Who Says I would agree.

I don’t think they will play it both nights too. I just dream about finally getting this song on any of those 2 nights, that’s all. Although still I would never complain about getting it on every single show on the tour

I agree with the sentiment, but at the same time I'm glad they do play it so often as I only go to one show per tour and this time I took my little brother to his first ever concert and was so glad DC was included.

I did catch myself saying to my brother that this used to be the Holy Grail for Bon Jovi fans when they started playing DC on Saturday. So what has replaced it? I've seen STBI mentioned a few times but to be honest I'd rather see DC again! Now DC and TD are more regular I'm guessing the Holy Grail songs are now more of an individual thing than a collective desire.

This Aint a Love Song! In my case, anyway. I had a banner that I know Jon saw, it wasn't played at HP, you'll all be SO SO lucky if it gets played at Bristol or in Ireland.

My sister and I are doing the Q&A with Jon and her question (even though I drew it up) is asking him to play songs from a list. Last Q&A (Sydney) Jon played 10 OF THE REQUEST songs, so I'm optimistic.
