My husband of almost 50 years will certainly be going to the shows with me. Seb used to be a friend but he was never a husband.

Alright. I just thought that you were talking about him when you said the following on the Pittsburgh thread last April. I'll first quote Dicanio's post:

"Fair play. Each to their own and if you still enjoy it then that is great. My towel is in the ring and this will be my last post for some time. Always remembering the good times I've had with this band."

Your reply:

"That's pretty much where my husband is now. He will go with me if I want - but he is no longer a happy co-fan."

That sounds so Seb!

Also, Seb was often talking about his fiancée being at the shows and you were talking about your husband being at them at the same time as well. I don't know what exactly caused me to think that you were a couple, but I'm sorry for the confusion (and especially for posting about you two to Seb before I knew).

Poor guy - I'm worried that I hurt his feelings now that he seems to have been going through a hard time lately, judging by his post on the previous page...

I'm sorry, I thought Kathleen was your wife. Apologies for the confusion and all the best.

Unfortunately my actual husband has sorta fallen out of love with this band. He was very much a fan but he really didn't like last year's THINFS tour. To be fair, I certainly understood a lot of his complaints, Jon did not sound good at all.

However this year I am ready to hit a few more shows. I guess I have been a fan for too long to just quit cold turkey. My husband, being a nice guy will go along. I can only hope that both of us don't come away from these shows as disappointed as we did last year.

Oh, I don't need Bon Jovi for that! We plan to head out in September where we will be in the city area and head upstate to Ithaca and Niagara Falls. I know the Newark shows happen on the weekend, so it's a possibility! At this point, I'm not really in the mode of being ready to jump on tickets next week.

Expectations for the 2018 tour? Absolutely zero in terms of quality. In terms of shit - 100%.

What I'm expecting?

Substandard vocal performances combined with more energy than last year in general, but still mostly Jon gripping the mic stand (and maybe tapping his foot at the same time, if you're REALLY lucky...).

EDIT: Basically something like this, at least for the most part:

https://youtu.be/_-9CbZVx2jU

https://youtu.be/1nkXYcSIZGA

And if Jon really, really, REALLY gets into the mood, you might even get this level of vocal epicness:

https://youtu.be/-ixPjmh4PdE

I mean, the guy hits not only one, but TWO of the high notes - during all the four choruses combined! Wow, his voice is back...

Wards.

Got it? It's going backwards (declining), hehe...

Not really.

Honestly, I'm expecting Jon to improve vocally at least a bit, basically continuing the progression he was showing during the SA leg (especially in Rio and Sao Paulo). He obviously won't come anywhere close to any of his pre-WAN tour levels, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he managed to get THIS voice back and sustain it to some degree of consistency, at least:

https://youtu.be/h11Gz6M8nRs

There definitely are some obvious (+ some less obvious) bum notes, but overall his tone still sounds decent and he doesn't look like he's having a heart attack either.

After all I've heard over the last few years, I'd be more than happy, if he did. Unfortunately, I think it's not possible. Please prove me wrong, Jon...
