Seb's already summed up my response to this perfectly. All I'll add are the statistics. Spain's unemployment rate is 27.2%, Portugal's is 17%

I was literally cringing at the fact that people are upset Spain is getting a free show. All that I can read from that is jealousy and spite. You sound like kids. "MOM WHY DIDN'T I GET THAT BIG LEGO SET THAT JIMMY GOT, I ONLY GOT A SMALL ONE." Be happy that Jon is actually doing good.

I think it is a brilliant move. He should be praised. I think it is one of those things that reconciles Jon with his roots. If instead he is toying with us i still don't mind. Too much intellectualizations on Jon's actions....

I bet that the crowd will be epic in Madrid, it could actually be a good idea to film it.... Sambora is going to be back by then, no ??

..not that we in Milan won't be noisy

Nice one Jon...

It's actually around the cost I would find acceptable for what the band are doing live right now as well!

'The US rock star Jon Bon Jovi has revealed that his band have waived their fee at a concert in Madrid next month, given Spain's economic crisis.'

Given SPAIN's economics?!?!?! How about Portugal's you ignorant yankee ?!?! I apologize in advance to all US fans reading this - but this is just way too much. do your research first you ****ing idiot. first of all, ticket prices for madrid ranged between 18 and 39 euros. cheapest ticket here in Portugal is 59 EUROS. **** Bon Jovi. I vow NEVER to see em again. bunch of cunts.
Count in Greece & Croatia which our economies are even worse, we've travelled in Sofia (where the economy is even worse than Spain's) just to see them live. This is just disrespectful to the rest of us. They came in Greece back in 2011 while we were in the finacial crisis and we had the most expensive tickets in the whole tour!!! Starting from 50 - 350 (DC) though we achieved to sold out the stadium.
Imagine them coming in Greece with these prices, it would be an instant sold out as well as in Spain & furthermore they could play at Panathinaikos Stadium (where the first Olympics took place), a stadium which is a sight for Athens but it can hold up to 90.000+ people and also count in the tourists, who would be on vacation in Greece in case they made it in late June or early July.
This is so disrespectful to rest of the fans. Like the Portuguese or we the Greeks or the Croatians don't love them. We love them even more than the Spanish lol! This is a fact that the Greek crowd, no matter the event, is the best along with the latin fans.
I didn't see any Spanish flag or any Spanish fan in any of the so far shows. Thus I've seen us as well as Romanian & Turkish fans in Sofia, maybe Croatians too. It wasn't the Bulgarian Fans who sold out the gig but the rest of their neighboors. It was Greece, Turkey, Italy, Romania, Croatia etc. So it's just wrong saying that.

As I said this is disrespectful & wrong. I won't blame him but they could include Greece easily on this tour as well as in every tour. With prices of Spain or a bit higher the show could be instantly sold out. Even the non Greek fans would come in. Not to mention the tourists. (Add the Turkish, Italian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian fans + the Russians and more! Who are coming every year on vacation in Greece). Picking up the correct place for set up such a venue, Olympic Stadium (75.000 seated) or the Panathinaikos Stadium (90.000+ capacity) would be the best. Plus as it's a 'free' concert against the poverty/finacial problems, such a concert in Greece which has the toughest finacial measures than any other country and suffers a lot, it could be easily turned to one of the biggest PEACEFUL demonstration and just like that Bon Jovi would make history & be on every TV Show & Magazine the next day. This is how I see it. I don't know if someone else shares the same thought like me but this is pretty much true, and it's realistic. It could happen very easily!!

To sum up, this is a great move by Jon and it's unlikely that any other band could do this easily. This proves why BON JOVI is so HUGE as a live act. They did a free gig back in 2007 in NYC (if i ain't wrong too). But his statement is just wrong. He let Greece & Croatia out of the tourlist cause of his wrong thought & bad research.

Spanish crowd is always epic! But this time I'm sure it will be more than ever, last time they played in that stadium was in '96 and show was shorter because Jon's allergy.. I only wish Richie is going to be back!

that is not true!! I know a lot of spanish fans who travelled and are travelling through Europe (and the States) even in our situation to see them... years back and also this year....

they played a lot of times here and they NEVER had a sold out show at least in Stadiums, this is the 1st time. i agree that they should do these kind of things in more cities or change the high prices shit for all the countries

I'm reading some posts and it seems like we have to apologize or something because of what they'll do in my country...
