The band & FC aren't huge multinational corporations, & haven't got the power to do anything about it. They depend on the promoter to play more than the promoter depend on the band.

Maybe their isn't a hell of a lot they could do now, but I doubt Jon's going to say during the concert "I'm sorry this whole tour was **** up, we'll make sure it won't happen again".
- Whats the alternative?? Run their own tour?? You'd see an even bigger mess.

What the fan club have done is devised something where their not really giving you too much benefit, whilst depriving normal people substancially. It should be fair footing. Who gets down their early gets to the front, reguardless... It's just saying that who can flash the most money get's the best spot, which I hate.... Also, if the bands Bon Jovi had been seeing when they were young were charging £60 a concert, do you think thy'd have had the chance to see enough shows that they'd have been really into music? THey're being untrue to their roots.
Bon Jovi are a HUGE band. They aren't Whitesnake - they can still play & sell out stadiums & the price of the tickts is the going market rate for a band such as BJ. Set by the promoters.

Charging going rates is one thing, but creating additional costs here and there isn't.... They could tell the fan club they're not getting tour rights, they could easily do that. They could tell promoters that Bon Jovi concerts have a fan club pit at the front, again, very easily. At the end of the day they're the band.
They certainly couldn't just 'tell' promoters they r gonna have a pit. They r a big band in the music world, but their power is very limited in dealing with these ppl. This isn't a fantasy world - it is one run by powerful corporations who's primary aim is to make money.

The FC has been going for a long time, & maybe u have a point about a level playing ppl who aren't prepared (or can't afford the cost ($40, just over £30); however it is tradition & has been in operation for many years. & I think for the price u pay for membership - it is a good return for the paying members.
