It's incredible rude but you haven't read It.

I know, expectations are maybe too high, as I got used to some pretty high standards, but there are musicians even older than Jon or Richie and they somehow managed to sound decent even today. The rock'n'roll style took its toll so they can blame only themselves for being reckless with their primary work tool overusing it or abusing with cigs and God knows what stuff. I DO enjoy BJ music and will be listening to their vast catalogue many years to come but the live thing isn't what I'm dying to experience. Too bad because BJ were stage animals back in the day and I'd give a lot to be able to attend their concert then... As I've already pointed out, I'm terribly late with good things but thank God for youtube and fan communities <3
I agree.....

How she felt about the show IS her judgement. She's judging the show from being there and the experience she had. She had a good time, why are you taking that away from her by saying her opinion (keyword opinion. Not fact) is unreliable?

An opinion of my opinion is irrelevant. It doesn't change the fact that I was there and I liked what I heard. So I'm happy to be going to another show next month. My only problem is I'm not an independently wealthy women who could go to more shows!!!

It's obvious that most of you are internet fans... The fans that steal music and just watch concerts on YouTube... if that's your thing, cool...

However for those of you who actually attend live concerts, there is a certain magic that happens that can only be experienced being there live in person with decent seats... not the best but you can't sit-in the last row either...

When I saw GnR this past summer, I was sure as shit that Axl sounded exactly like the album... I mean every song was spot on... when I got home and watch the show on YouTube, I couldn't believe it was from the same show...

It's like watching a sports play in real time and then seeing it a second time in slow motion... not as captivating... or taking the professionally done make-up off a celebrity and wondering why she's not as pretty...

Call it an illusion, I call it magic but the voice we hear on YouTube is not good enough to fool 30 thousand people every night along with all critics... no one is that good... When you watch vids on YouTube you are stripping it back... You're taking the makeup off the model... True me, I know it's not perfect but it's tolerable...

Perfectly said, I felt the exact same way when I saw Billy Joel a couple of years ago. Said to my friends that he sounded just like on the albums, then was amazed how different it was listening to the youtube clips.

To be honest I can't recall anyone stating that the current Bon Jovi isn't enjoyable in person. Of course a live concert by this big standard are great. I always have a great time on concerts. C'mon, you are in a stadium/arena with thousands of other people with the same musical taste, having a few beers, dancing and singing and witnessing a show with visuals in top class. How can you not love that? Of course, there are better and worser shows, Bon Jovi in Horsens 2011 were only OK for me, but I still had a good time.

But this is a board for die hard fans, most people knows Bon Jovi better than any other band and have spent hundreds/thousands of hours watching and listening to BJ shows. How can it come as such a suprise that we watch and analyzes the shows? What's the meaning of having a PBP thread if it's only purpose is to praise every set list and every performance because the people whose there are enjoying it.
Of course people will react when Mr. Jon Bon Jovi is stuck behind his mic stand for almost the enitre show and actually sounding very poor on a lot of songs. It's not like we don't praise where praise is due. The Always clip from Greenville was highly regarded even though it doesn't sound that great. Of course we will react when we know that Bon Jovi has a catalog of songs to choose from that many bands would die for and still decides to play the same 24 songs each night.
I would love to be at one of the shows, I would have a great time but I'm not. I'm on the other side of the world and the best I can do is to the watch youtube videos and discuss them with you. And if the discussions are only meant to be a one way road, then I don't really see the point of a fan forum for die hards.

For me, it's just beating a topic to death... His vocal state absolutely deserves and mention or two... but it's just over the top for me now... We all know his pipes are gone and his technique is just odd... okay we said it... but do we need to keep saying it??? Becky had a good time at the show and I get why... for the very reasons you stated plus add in the acoustics, the overpowering instruments, etc... It's all good... I feel it's okay to beat up Jon for the negativity but it's not okay to defend the reality...

This is my opinion, I think they are not doing so bad to be a beginning of tour, but the set list leaves much to be desired, they could easily change 4 or 5 songs by show using songs from their new album and making them rotate. It could also do the same with some classics such as runaway, in these arms, blaze of glory, ill be there for you or some more recent like make a memory.

At this point it is no longer worth the excuse that Phil can not learn the shenanigans, he is already fluent and has played a lot of the band's repertoire, and having a rare album (burnin bridges) with some great songs for the shows, i don't understand why Jon is content to play the same thing every night. We are not in 1995, we are in 2017, we have internet and youtube, if Jon and the boys want to surprise their American audience, just change some songs every night, is easy.

Speaking about the band, John Shanks is much better than Bobby, and Phil seems to be improving on his own, have a rather more solid sound and for the first in a long time I feel the guitars sound with a consistent volume. I will be patient and give the opportunity to see how it improves, since the real weakness of the show is the state of Jon's voice and its staging.
