I also liked his stories, there was something about the whole set up that felt very intimate, like we were in a small venue not a huge one and I really appreciated that they were able to create that feeling. Anyway - everyone I saw left smiling so I think it was easily worth the $$.
That's good to hear. At least he is still trying hard to please the audiences.

Frankly, I'm waiting until Bleeding Purist checks in. If he goes on record saying that he will never go to another show again I will be worried.

My fear is that his voice is just going to collapse... Even his 'Is there a doctor in the house' sound weird...

At 55, I don't know what's driving him anymore... Money? Breaking Records? An F U to critics? A see Richie, life goes on without you??? but he needs to charge a little less and do shorter sets, maybe 1/2 acoustic and 1/2 rockin...

If I paid $100 for a Big Mac I'd enjoy it but would it be worth it?

I genuinely think Jon wants to tour as some kind of catharsis for the past few years but I think he's just adding to his problems by touring when his voice is done.

Maybe he'll call it quits or as you suggested rethink the way the show is currently going to save his voice. He needs to make some drastic changes either way.

I agree. I think he looks sad up there - his voice IS shot and I think the whole Richie thing has hurt him more than he'll ever (publicly) admit.

I've criticised Jon in the past for what I perceive to be greed, but I do now think this tour is exactly like you said, a form of catharsis for him. Unfortunately, it may be the very thing that brings the machine to a grinding halt once and for all.

Maybe that's sort of a farewell thing without making it big in the headlines? The next step would be a small reunion (most probably with Richie) in NJ or something pretty symbolic and that would be it.

Nah, I've always been bad at prophesying

He's still pulling in massive crowds... He just broke his own Nashville record...

Back in the 80s and 90s, I'm sure Jon and the band never imagined they would still be performing well into the 2000s. He never took proper care of his most vital instrument and key to his success, his vocal chords. Plus smoking, which is probably the worst thing a singer could ever do. No doubt this probably bothers him more than anything.

Then again, it's 2017, why don't we have the technology to restore vocal strength/ability? How amazing would that be? His confidence would be back and we'd have some stellar shows again!

I think this has also to do with them having the smallest and most minimalistic stage in ages. There's a lot more room for seating on the floor than there was on the last few tours.

Jon has said it a million times in the past few year that he doesn't enjoy touring that much anymore. When he announced the tour, I got the feeling immediately that it will be nothing special this time. Jon didn't sound excited at all.

I think he really enjoys writing his music and doing some occational shows with KOS. THINFS tour so far, based on the videos I've seen, is pretty horrible. I even think that Jon wants it to be over soon already and probably is just touring for the "fans". Nothing seems to be working. He sounds worse than ever, he is very passive on stage, setlists are more predictable than ever and the new songs are getting no reaction.

This is the first tour since HAND that I will definitely skip. I still have some good memories seeing them live. It would be pure masochism to pay +100€ to see the band/Jon in current condition... In my opinion.
