Are you better than Jon, Really, you guys should really stop obessesing with his voice, its getting old and boring, and your making this forum dull and boring by repeating yourselves over and over again.

Oh, no... please don't say you're being serious.

He's a professional singer, he should take care of his voice as the most important thing in his world. You see people like Steven Tyler and Axle Rose going for surgery and coming back excellent, but no... the CEO of a major company can't do that.

And never forget this, he's not a karaoke singer, he's a professional singer. If he can't sing anymore, do a real treatment or quit.

Correct me if im wrong but im yet to see people who have been to the show - who are not on here - saying his voice was bad.
Well I can understand how his voice might not sound as bad when you're in the actual arena with distractions but I don't see how fans couldn't hear his total lack of vocal power and breathing issues.

I saw Whitesnake and Def Leppard a few years ago and I could hear the cracks in Coverdale and Elliott's voices, they weren't anywhere near as bad as Jon's voice but I had no problem hearing the flaws.

Let me also point out that I've seen other bands, new and old, and they always lack a certain something so even with Jon's vocal state, he's still bringing a certain something to these shows that rival most acts...

Dude, come on.

I don't known if it's the correct term in English, but it's just affective memory of their past. Be real to yourself, if a new band comes up exactly like this and the lead singer sounds that awful live, would it make you interested?

You know the songs so well you start singing them in your head and arent listening for JBJs faults.

Casuals and people who have never been before have nothing to compare it too so they wont know the difference.

But its clear that the reason theres only a few dates plus none in Europe and worldwide yet is cos JBJ is seeing how he holds up.

I think in a recent Q&A he said theres no europe and uk until 2018. Maybe he wants to give his voice a 6 month break.

The tour at the moment ends in April before one show in August and after that nothing at the moment is booked in for after.
Agreed. For me, at the Nashville show, the only song I could actually hear a struggle on was HAND and a bit of Prayer but I don't go to the show honing in on ONLY Jon's vocals. I'm watching/listening to the entire band and watching the production as well. If Jon was up there singing acappella with a quiet audience yes everyone would notice but that's not what is going on. As you said, people are singing themselves and badly lol! Plus, I'm not going to nail Jon to a cross over and over again on his vocal struggles. Believe me, he's listening back to the performances and he's harder on himself then anyone here can or will be. If he was mailing in performances (as I've seen him do occasionally in my 30+ years of seeing this band live) then I'd be a lot more critical. But, he and the band are giving their all. That's all I want for the dollars I pay for a ticket.

Yeah, like this changes anything.

I went to a couple of their shows and I could notice when he was struggling. Hell, did you watch Rock In Rio?? It's still debated these days by music fans the shitty set list and Jon's performance. The live broadcast certainly didn't help Jon to hide his singing in a very loud environment like he does for people like you.

Oh, so what Gabriel? BJ will exist as long as people will buy their records and go their concerts even if it means somehow destroying the legacy by steady deterioration of their output...which still isn't a problem for many. The whole discussion is not even speculating or trying to find out the story behind it but plain recycling the very same phrases and beating the dead horse over and over again (voice is shot, come off the stage already!). The voice is gone because JBJ sounded "like magic" when he and RS sang together and now he's the only one fronting the stage, even if there are some extra musicians on stage. If Jon isn't ashamed of the quality and is still singing live then good for him. I think there's much to it than just pleasing the fans. JBJ wanted to stop touring altogether and it was Shanks if I remember correctly who dared him not to give up. Some say he's struggling with his psychological issues, low self-esteem or whatever is going on in his mind. Others claim he's having some serious health issues. I think there's grain of truth in each of them so that it makes a whole different story.

I was bothered at first. Even joined the bandwagon so that JBJ is one money driven ever hungry egomaniac who just wants to buy out the world. He IS expensive, for many a rip off, but the shows are long, skillfully organised and conducted, almost all over the world, so a lot of fans can't complain. I personally won't see them live but I understand those who still want to go, especially if they have been to their concerts before and enjoyed them. Now I rest my case. If I don't like it, I don't listen to it but instead, go back to the fond memories of better days. Bitching about Jon being shameless enough to go out and perform in such a state won't make him cancel the tour anyway. The guy has made the decision. Who knows, maybe this is truly the last tour ever.

To be clear, I'm not saying the vocals were not crappy but being at the show not listening back to a live recording I am being honest in that I couldn't hear it. I realize that astounds you but it's the honest opinion of someone there. I'm quite sure if I go and listen to what you have I would agree and say, "wow that sucked".

If you're aware that he has a lot of struggling with his singing and like it anyway, that's no problem to me. What I can't stand it's the reality distortion going on for some fans, that's very sick. You can still like something even admitting the the flaws.
