yeah i know that, what i'd like to know is why he's doing this...he already has a thin voice, no need to make it sound even thinner while the only good thing about his voice nowadays are the low tones...i don't think it's just lack of confidence as he's doing it even when he's just talking

I wouldn't worry about the victory lap comment. I took it as a victory lap for the "This House" era, rather than the band as a whole.
Watching it back youre right, the new song - which a good performance was needed to make people buy it - was awful. Jon looked bored by it already. There was no energy or passion about it.

The rest wasn't as bad. Ill put it down to doing the radio shows with the start stop to talk destroying the flow of the bands performance.

Said it once and Ill say it a 1000 times more. Im just glad I saw this band at the peak of their powers (88-03). Its pains me to see them still trying to go on. The new music is crap. God bless those first 6, maybe 8 albums.

Holy sh*t, I expected him to sound bad, but not so much. The only good performances were Sleep, Bad Medicine and GBTM.

Also, Dave is high in the mix. I f*cking love his backing vocals. I very much like when he does the high " it's my laaaaAA" and then he finishes that with Jon on the word 'highway in the chorus. Its good to have him high in the mix because people might concentrate on his vocals and not on Jon's.

EDIT: Haha I just realised, David screwed up on IML. Right before the talkbox/guitar solo he starts singing his backing vocal parts. There was no stink eye from Jon though.

I don't like David's vocals but even if I did it'd make more sense to have all of them supporting Jon so it's not that obvious how weak he sounds.

Having only a backing vocal high in the mix for the difficult parts is not helping, it only highlights it even more imho

I watched it on my IPhone X live and I'm easy to please, as y'all know, so I enjoyed it. I really like When We Were Us, a lot more than I thought I would.

Can I say how glad I am they won't tour Europe this year? I admit sometimes I feel guilty and hypocritical for not supporting the band on tour, I fully support their decision to go on as a band but I don't want to see them live without Richie. Even if they were killing it. But it makes it easier this way...

Agree about them not touring Europe.
IMO they shouldve carried on the WAN tour then called it a day.
THINFS is stinking pile of turd with the odd exception and the band are just not the same anymore. Too many extras and not enough originals.
I have no interest in see this "rebirth" of Bon Jovi live.
Ive seen them live over 20 times since 1989 but thats it for me. Im not paying £100 for this version of Bon Jovi
