If he wasn't aware, then the setlists would look like 2008-2013 with a lot more ballads and other challenging songs. But he takes every shortcut in terms of setlist, and lowers every note possible. He's not an idiot. He is just lucky to have a lot of fans that are.

He enjoys the feeling that he "can" still do it at this age (even though anyone with ears would disagree), which is the 'ego' aspect we discussed earlier, and the paychecks that bring him closer to his NFL dream.

I agree. He knows he sounds bad but keeps going because he can. I cannot believe JBJ would continue in his current vocal state unless it was ego. He really needs to get that NFL team so he has a real good reason to ditch the singing. He will quit only when there’s something else lined up.

I’m sure he pushes on to show he can do it without Richie also.

WWWU was bad. Just bored and weak. I think it would have sounded miles better with David (and Richie) backing up the chorus. Phil was the only one singing harmony and he isn't the strongest vocalist, especially at harmonies. Where was David in that one? He would have given it more weight.

If Dave sung harmonies in WWWU, and if he was High in the mix, that performance might've been listenable.

A bit too late for this but here we go..

Saw the full show online and I really think it's time to fix the background vocals. They just didn't harmonize well. Shanks should not even try to sing. He sounds horrible. I'd prefer Alec's high pitch vocals over his disastrous voice. It's simply disastrous.

Got no problem with Jon though. Just same old post 2013 Jon out there. He could've sounded 25% bearable if the background vocals was not that dreadful. I guess they'll have an acoustic setlist for their HOF Performance if he sounds like that.

Just can't expect a lot to this band anymore. Same goes to Jon. He's only doing it for ego purposes or that NFL matter that he really wanted. It's not about passion anymore.

Shanks barely barely barely sang, it was mostly the gang vocal parts. It was mainly Everett, a lot of David and a bit of Phil. Do you have any examples of Shanks's voice making it all sound bad?

Was the beginning of God Bless This Mess playback? Jon talks, his voice is so tired at that point, then the acapella intro starts and it sounds a lot more artificial with much more reverb and as soon as he hits the "my voice is shot, I'm going grey..." part, it sounds like his talking voice from right before again.

The background vocalists sang better than Jon for the most part.
