I see your point, but I have two issues with it:
1) Your first sentence - you don't tell people why they go to concerts. Someone with a musical background or a more trained ear may go to see a high quality musical performance (something Jon was much more capable just a few years ago) and thus have much lower tolerance levels for his (very obvious) shortcomings than you or 'the rest of the audience' and there's nothing wrong with expressing it;
2) Again, you only explained their (our) behavior, but not how it ruins the show for the rest of the audience. If someone critiques the show on a forum or even website review it has no influence on whether I like it or not. Any possible feedback happens after the fact.
