Hate to break it to you, but it's not realistic. Vocally, maybe Jon could pull it off. But I'm pretty sure that he'll refuse to drop LH, WSYCGH, Sleep, WGIGO, WWBTF etc.

If he just played 1 or 2 of those songs every show it would leave room for some awesome, yet terribly under-played gems like you've suggested. It's a shame that he insists on playing the same songs every night.

Maybe it's time for them to start doing a 4/5 song little medley, what with the huge choice of the catalogue and the state of Jon's voice, they should use snippets of songs as intros (like Blood Money into Blaze, Lie To Me into Always etc..). There's so many good songs, hit songs, just totally ignored, at least play some part of them.

I think the main problem with the setlists of the current tour is that they only include half of the big hits. Last night, I wondered if there was actually a way to make both casuals and die-hards happy and came up with an idea, which, if you guys don't mind, I'd like to share with you. It concerns the contents of the setlists. From a fan's point of view, you want to hear the classics and a few hidden gems, and I think this is absolutely possible.
If I were Jon, I would compile two pools of songs - one with the classics that should be played every night without exception and another one with the album cuts which could be rotated each night, somethink like this:

Pool A - The Classics (I'm writing them in chronological order for more convenience):
1. Prayer
2. Bad Name
3. Wanted
4. Bad Medicine
5. I'll Be There For You
6. Blaze Of Glory
7. Keep The Faith
8. Bed of Roses
9. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
10. Always
11. This Ain't a Love Song
12. It's My Life
13. EveryDay
14. Have a Nice Day
15. Make a Memory
16. Superman Tonight
+ 3 songs from the new record - e.g: the title track, born again tomorrow & roller coaster.
In a mixed running order, this set will contain 19 songs. Now, if we assume that an average set contains 24 songs, Jon can put 5 different songs each night and select those 5 songs from:

Pool B - the album cuts, fan favorites and Jon's favorites:
1. Die for You
2. Lay Your Hands on Me
3. Wild is The Wind
4. Blood on Blood
5. I Believe
6. In These Arms
7. Dry County
8. Hey God
9. These Days
10. Something to Believe In
11. Hey God
12. Next 100 years
13. Undivided
14. I am
15. Any other day
16. Love's the only rule
17. I'm with You
18. That's What the Water made Me
19. We Don't Run
20. Lost Highway (Jon's favorite)
21. WGIGO (Jon's favorite & crowd pleaser)

Assuming that:
1. the songs from pool A are played every night
2. the 3 thinfs songs are changed with another 3 songs from the same record each night

3. jon picks 5 random songs from pool B and those 5 songs are different each night,
then we can conclude that:

1. casual fans will be happy because they will hear ALL the hits
2. multiple concert visitors will be happy because they could potentially be getting up to 8 different songs from the previous show (5 new picks from pool B + 3 different tracks from the new album)
3. die-hards will be happy because this setlist structure would allow Jon to throw them a bone or two per night (dry county one night, something to beieve in on the next, etc).
4. the setlists will vary from night to night, keeping things fresh.

The band will have to rehearse 52-53 songs in total, which should not be a problem considering that they played 70+ different song on the European 2011 tour.

What do you all think? I know Jon may struggle with a lot of those songs but if we put this aside, would you all be happy if the setlist were built on a basis like this one?

Indeed. The boxset hardly sold any copies. They aint gonna bring those out. Even some diehards probably dont own that boxset. They aint gonna play Kidnap to a arena of which most are casuals.

Regarding last nights set - for me as a fan of 30 years - its horrible - but, on twitter "the casuals" are raving about it. JBJ knows his audience.

These "dream setlists" are a waste of time - i have mine and they contain songs theyve never played live before or even released so we can all dream but to suggest they should play rare or bsides in 2017 is just crazy.

I don't see any problem with that setlist, other than how short it is (only 22? is it confirmed?).

• 12 songs are on the Greatest Hits. 10 of them are classic hits. They are not going anywhere
• 2 concert staples (Sleep, WGIGO). Not much to swap with either
• 1 of Jon's faves (WLOL, I think we all agree it could be better, but also way worse)
• 7 new songs which is pretty awesome and ballsy, which I applaud

This is what Jon can sing right now, give or take a BOB/Sat Night and occasionally a ballad/rarity. 24/25 songs per night is a standard for this band. It's not what *I* want to hear and I wouldn't pay for this setlist because I basically only care about the new songs and a couple more (well, if Jon moved around I would probably get a very cheap ticket), but it's pretty balanced for both casuals who only want the hits and for fans who want a little bit more variety and like the new album. I think it's unfair to say it's a vanilla set because it's the same every night. The setlist is not bad at all considering that Jon can't sing better songs, the repetition is overkill though.

This core setlist with 3/4 extra songs on rotation and a few tweaks every X shows would be much better but we've always said it's about quality. If Jon feels that this is the best he can give and having the same setlist everynight makes him feel more confident in his voice I don't see what else he could do to improve it.

Exactly! Also considering that "block" of songs at the beginning and some tweets during the shows/Jon's talk about "only hits from now on" - that's quite smart of him actually, because there's only hits at the end, and everyone (casuals and die-hards) will leave with a big smile on their face because of it. Everyone who complained about the beginning will have forgotten it after that armada of songs at the end

That's correct and I have no issue with the songs from LYHOM to Prayer. However, I don't like the sequence from 4 to 11, just this block of songs....it doesn't work for me at all. And, to be honest, as much as I hate the fact that Jon's voice is problematic right now, Always/I'll be there for you and Bed of roses all must be in the set. Having none of them just doesn't feel like a complete Bon Jovi show.
