I def agree with you on that one. If anyone remembers how memorable the msg shows were during the HAND tour and this not based on the set list.

I'll be there.
Even though July 15 is the night of the last All Star Game at Yankee Stadium, and the night before Billy Joel at Shea.

Personally - I prefer MSG. It's much smaller and the sound is excellent. I think that they made a strategic mistake when they did 10 nights in Newark rather than at the Garden. I know why Jon chose to play Newark - and his reasons are admirable but I don't think those shows did him any favors.

Stadium shows are considered more of an "event" and there is no doubt that being outside on a beautiful summer night listening to music is great. But Giants stadium is directly under the landing pattern to Newark Airport and the air traffic never stops - and it's loud. And the sound at any stadium that big is boomy and pretty bad. It's also so big that unless you are right up front - the band is very far away.

So - in my case - since it's really all about listening to the music - I'm quite happy about the MSG shows. I'll even be happier if they announce a third show. Three shows there about equals 1 night at Giants in terms of tickets sales. So two years ago they sure sold a hell of a lot more tickets.

And the 10 nights in Newark very recently may have had an impact on local dates too - though I doubt that would have affected the Boston shows.
I don't know why they would think that. They had no problem filling up Foxboro in 2006. They sold out 2 nights in Boston in 2005. They would obviously sell out Giants for at least 2 nights.

Something doesn't add up.

I would have to agree but I don't know what the real reason is. July 15th is earlier than usual for the tour to end also.

In 2006 there were 3 Giants shows and if you assume 60,000 tickets per night that's 180,000 tickets.

MSG holds about 22,000 so two nights there isn't a drop in the bucket in comparison.

i don't think they are worried about not selling out the giants stadium (as they've done many times in pervious years) and i would of thought with lost highway being the bands first number 1 album in america since new jersey they'd have even more confindence now to play there then they did on the HAND tour etc.

maybe they just want to end the tour a different way this time. Who knows

I'm actually a bit high.

"For hockey, the Garden seats 18,200; for basketball, 19,763; and for concerts 20,000 center stage, 19,522 end-stage. The arena features 20,976 square feet (1949 mē) of arena floor space."

It depends if they have seating behind the stage. Those seats are not counted into the normal end stage seating count. The number will be at least 22,000 if they seat the entire building plus the floor.

Ending earlier because of Greatest Hits 2.
