He was asked to do the Newark shows, it was the Opening of the new arena, and Bruce turned it down due to high ticket prices. Jon did pick the number of shows, though. Probably to equalize the 10 in a row Bruce did at Continental when it opened.

Anyways, I'll be away the week of these shows, oh well. I was hoping for August dates, as I would be around. I'm seeing 5 shows this summer (at least) so I'll be happy, although didn't get to catch any shows on the LH tour.

It could be the parking problem at Giants and all the construction. Not to mention that Jon lives in NY now, so maybe Jersey's not good enough for him now. Maybe with all Richie's problems, they're just plain tired and don't want to do stadiums this time around. Maybe they will bang out one more show at Giants. Time will tell. Let's not forget Bruce is at the end of the month also and dates might not be available.

Kathleen the announcement is up on backstage in the news section.
As for MSG over Giants Sounds like the construction has something to do with it, plus Bruce can't sell out the three nights he's got there as of yet and those shows have been on sale since before Christmas.

I love Giants because it's become a tradition, but I can't say I'm sad about not having to be in a line outside all day, not having to deal with GA, and not having to deal with getting over there from wherever you stay. Plus the sound is much better at MSG.

I also think that BJ has been on tour alot in the last few years and alot of the casual fans have seen them enough that if money is tight this summer, alot of them would skip seeing the band again.

Well, I'm gonna take MSG's word on it and assume these are the last 2 shows of the tour. If so, I'm starting my vacation a day earlier (July 20), and getting the hell out of Dodge.

I just find it nuts that Pearl Jam is charging $70 for EVERY SEAT IN THE ARENA and Jovi is charging $300+. I guess both approaches have their ups and downs, like the people who get the worst seats for PJ get screwed, and you could argue $300 is worth front row...or can you?

That's not true of Bruce's dates. I've been trying since Dec. and can't get any seats. They keep saying no seats available at this time. Also, BJ never have trouble selling out Giants. I've seen them there many times and it's always sold out.

And the 10 nights in Newark very recently may have had an impact on local dates too - though I doubt that would have affected the Boston shows.
Abosolutly not, not selling out Giants is out of the question... Lost Highway was another number one hit for them plus it has still sold about 1.2 million copies in the U.S. plus another top 30 hit with Memory....

this is terrible why is the tour ending so early? and why are they playing at msg? They would at least have to play 5 shows there to meet Giants capacity... I want them to have the number one tour and break tour grossing records.... Stadiums= more money and people

You have to remember though they started promo for LH last June at O2 then continued with a handful of promo dates in July (Summerfest, Country Jam, Puerto Rico, Canada) and then in October started the full blown tour, so it's not really that early.
