Default First Night vs Other Nights Thoughts

Ok, so it seems like the band have settled into a pattern of a standard show on night 1 and then with any other multiple nights you might get some surprises. Anyone else annoyed by this?
Is the thought pattern that only hard core fans will show up on nights 2, 3 etc? Because I'm not sure that is true. For me, having been going to Bon Jovi shows for over 22 years now I always get a ticket for the first night of a show at the places in the UK where they play as there is often no guarentee that there will be a second or third night.
When the extra shows are announced surely less hard core fans will go because these are the people who 'ummed and ahhed' about whether to go to night 1 or not? Or are people who didn't even know night 1 existed until all the tickets where gone.

I know that more passionate fans will probably buy tickets to more than 1 show and so there is an argument that the extra nights should have rarities and audibles in to appease them as they have spent more money but I still believe that there would be less casual fans on night 1 than on multiple nights.

Its like the O2 shows. I bought a ticket for night 1 of the O2 run because I thought it would be cool to see the first show on the tour but I really believe that will be a standard, getting into it type of show. So I then bought a ticket for one much later in the run.

Also wondering whether the whole American tour is a rehearsal for the O2 run as they seem to have tried out a few oldies and then put them away again ready for the O2 run. Seems to have been the usual pre tour hoo ha about set list changes only for the set list to have been predictable for weeks now after a very promising start.
I mean, 'Runaway'!!!! For gods sake why when you could have 'Only Lonely' in there.

Also got to hope that the obsession with LH runs out by the time the O2 shows come round, hoping that they see it as an American thing!

Anyway, off topic now. Anyone any thoughts about the band's attitude on multiple night set lists?

Of course, if there are more than one show at a London Stadium, then I would get tickets for both/all shows. I learned a valuable mistake in 2006. I had tickets for Milton Keynes Night 1 only, & Night 2 had 'Bounce and 'These Days'. So at Twickenham 2008, I managed to get 'Dry County' and 'I Believe' (not forgetting Prayer/Bad Name opening in Night 1 ).

With regards to The O2, I'm only gonna try attending 3 shows....Night 1, Penultimate Night and Final Night. Of course, I've got the feeling that some of the shows inbetween will have a gem or 2, but that's the risk you take in deciding which show(s) you wanna attend.

If they do a Stadium Tour in 2011 and there's more than one London show, I'll be getting all tickets (coz you never know which night will have the rarity you want)

Yep it's annoying, lots of things are annoying with this tour. However we have all seen up to this point how things are going, so you can plan your shows around it.

Roll of the dice, but that is the way it is. I had decent 1st night floor tickets for Chicago, they added a 2nd night. I was able to pull up Pit for the 2nd night, so I bought those. I have now sold my 1st night tickets. Spent the same amount of money for 2 nights of decent floor tickets, but based on my money, travel partner(can't go for 2 nights), and the tour so far this is the best way for me to go. Doing the same thing for Toronto.

Added Jersey show, I passed on tickets, could have had Pit or decent floor. But Jersey is a bit far for 1 show, and I am betting they add a 2nd show. If they do, I will pick up nose bleed for the 1st night and with some luck get good seats for the 2nd one. If they don't add on a show, I could have screwed myself right out of Jersey. Cause I won't travel that far for 1 show in the nose bleed seats.

But that is how it goes, you have to make your decisions on your situation. IMO every night should be a great setlist and with a decent amount of songs, not sure how the band can justify the way they have been doing it. Tickets cost the same for every night and everyone should get something equally good. So far though that is not how it has gone, and I based my ticket buying on the way it has gone. I will only have myself to be annoyed with if they change it up. For me in the end the shows will be great, cause that is how I will make them.
