For what its worth - we were prevented from bringing sandwiches and chocolate into Manchester concert (we had been queuing from early on...) So if your bringing food in - hide it well!
Bottled drinks - the usual remove the lid before entrance and no cans, cartons etc. (Tip bring some spare lids in with you!)

When I went into Hampden at the weekend there was nobody searching people. I could have taken my bag with me and stuffed it full of booze and crisps. I didn't because there were loads of security last time.

Best thing to do is eat well before the gates officially open...same applies to other necessities (Toilet breaks etc...)

That's what I did before the Milton Keynes show 2 years ago. Only complaint I had left was my Tan (I could've died that day)

Both concerts ive been to this year have removed the lids from my bottles of water/coke etc at the entrance gates... Get this - its to stop you using it as a missile????

Oddly in Manchester we were told that we could take in drinks if they were still sealed - but inside when we bought them they removed the lids (as Dinger says, it stops them being used as missiles)

I think its also so that you can't fill a bottle, seal it, and chuck it at the stage

I could've took food n drink into manchester,we weren't searched and were allowed to take bottles in only iff they were sealed. I had just bought a bottle of water aswell n only opened it to take some medication . It cost me £2 Oh n before you buy have a look on the other stalls because I come across same bottle of water for a quid.

In Milton Keynes, I came across a stall where a Burger, Portion of Chips or a Bottle of Drink costs £3.

So, in hindsight, it'll cost me £9 to buy all 3 if I feel a bit peckish
