We know that Jon was very upset by the reviews of the Pru shows and the fact that people thought they were carpetbaggers and going completely country. The Pru stage with the saloon had a very "country" feel to it. Mike Rew said before the three Toronto shows (I lost the link to the article). Anyway, here's a quote from a recent article:

"For the first part of the tour, it had a western, saloon type of vibe," says crew chief Mike Rew. "For this part, Jon wanted something a little more rock 'n' roll."

I was never entirely convinced they would tour a Greatest Hits album but for all I care, I like the stage so they should just save their money (and preferably ours) and just keep the stage if they were to do a Greatest Hits tour.

The music they play won't vary a lot form what it is now, so get that out of your head. They won't play random 90's album cuts or the higher than high stuff. STOP DREAMING, and enjoy what is still a ****ing good rock show, with great songs.
When those great songs are performed half hearted, when the songs that have made you a fan are being ignored tour after tour, not a thousand impressive videoscreens can save the show for me.

I became a fan because of the music and the way the songs were performed live, not because of the ****ing video screens.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I think Ryan had the opposite point, that cutting back the production wouldn't make the songs, the performance, or the setlist any better

Ah, I misunderstood.

That said, adding the videoscreens doesn't make the show better for me though. Yes it's nice to have them, but if there'd be 2 big videoscreens I'd enjoy it just the same.

I'm with Seb on this. The screens are cool and I enjoyed them BUT - they are secondary to the music. I go for the music and yes - it could just be the band and a bare stage such as Bruce does and I would be happy. As long as the music was performed well and with conviction (or passion if you will).

The way I see it is that Bruce lets the music stand on it's own with no gimmicks - and it does and always has.

The screens are secondary to the music and performance of course, but as someone who makes a concert living sitting in nosebleeds, I like the idea of a lot of screens.

Every tour is basically a greatest hits tour. They always play the biggest songs.

Oh come on. I meant concerning the setlists being comprised of their biggest hits night after night. That's obvious. No one needs to be told that.
