A fence. A big, big fence.

That said, slip security $20 and you'll stand a decent chance of getting in.

Oh, do **** off. If it weren't for your own demand, there would be no touts. Admit that they are doing you a service, pay the price and shut up.
I have been a fan of this band for many years and wanted to go to one of the London shows this tour plain and simple. I was logged on at 8:30am hitting F5 for half an hour till they went on sale at 8:58am and yet, when I get to ticket selection page, there are no GC tickets available. The people fuelling the touts' business are the likes of Ticketbastard and other agencies not releasing ALL of the tickets for events on the day they go on sale. It means when they release a second batch the same touts who mopped up the first batch, have another chance to do the same again.

People do want to go to concerts and will be prepared to pay more for it to do so, which is what generates so much business for touts, but it's shitty that so many touts manage to get hold of tickets at the cheapest prices before genuine fans - but that's a completely separate issue to my situation.

There is major difference between touts and scammers. At least with touts you get to see a show at over-inflated prices. I hate touts with a passion but admit that I will use them (grudgingly) if there is no other means.

Ebay makes me physically ill. They will allow ANYTHING to be sold. They have absolutely no morale code of conduct whatsoever.

There's no point in logging on at 8.30am. Even if you were in a 'queue', hitting F5 would only result in you losing your place.

The people fuelling the touts' business are those who buy the tickets. End of story.

If fewer tickets are released on day 1. Touts have fewer to sell.

Late releases also reduce the demand for touted tickets, ensuring that more people can buy through legitimate sources later on (as you yourself eventually did). I am strongly in favour.

It means when they release a second batch the same touts who mopped up the first batch, have another chance to do the same again. As attentive as touts are, I'm sure genuine fans have the edge here. How many times have we seen 'more GC tix available' posts on this board?

People need to learn to say no.

And also to check out other bands. For the £90 paid for a legitimate GC ticket, you could see four or five world class acts if your interests are broad enough. Bon Jovi is not the only fruit.

Did you book on Credit Card? I'm no expert, but I'd assume the Consumer Credit Act would require your CC company to reimburse you for any goods not received, even if booked through eBay.

And learn to use them to your own advantage. You get a pretty good idea of what shows are likely to sell out once you've been round the block a few times. If there are going to be a few empty seats, you can pick up tickets for a lot of great shows less than face value.

Please explain to me why people should not be aloud to sell on concert tickets for whatever price they can get for them? How is it morally wrong?

Selling antiques for a profit? A charming hobby. Used cars? gotta trade up!. Property? The economy depends on it. Concert ticket? Scum!

Because then true fans who can't afford $500 for a concert ticket, can't go. How can you not see that as being wrong?

I suppose it's OK to burn DVD's from Blockbuster Video and sell them on ebay as well, right?

Because being a 'true fan' does not entitle you to a good you can't afford.

They could afford it if people would stop scalping all the tickets up.

I'm sorry. The fact that you don't see that as being morally wrong is bizarre to me. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

How is that even remotely similar?
