It's amazing.

Bon Jovi is really the band of the working class

Best regards,

What's wrong with the picture and with GA? I don't get it at all...

At a show like this, the vast majority of the people probably aren't going to be fans. They'll be there to get drunk on a beach. I may be wrong, and it could work out beautifully. Central Park certainly did for me (although I know those toward the front had more problems). I'm not ruling this out yet (it could still happen, Becky), but I'm waiting for some more details about how it's going to be organized. I'd also like to do a little research to see how well things went for the Jimmy Buffet show.

The strange thing is that this was organized to promote tourism, but they picked a weekend in direct conflict with another big music event right on the Gulf. Pensacola Beach (about an hour away) is hosting De Luna Fest from Friday to Sunday. Daughtry's playing on Friday evening. That one is only free on Sunday (again, made possible by BP's oilspill money), and a lot of people who might have been inclined to see Bon Jovi may already have purchased tickets to Daughtry.

The only Brad Paisley song I know is Online (I think that's what it's called) but William Shatner and Jason Alexander are ****ing awesome in the video.

I would join you Terri and Becky, if I didn't have a work deadline the day of the show. I love Gulf Shores. My folks used to have a house there so we went there a lot when I was a kid. I haven't been back in 20+ years!!

That's too bad, Deb. I've actually never been to Gulf Shores itself. I've gone to dog shows in places nearby, though, so I know which way to point the van if I decide to brave the masses. It really could be crazy that weekend with one music festival in Pensacola Beach, 2 more concerts with largely different audiences in Gulf Shores and the "Thunder on the Gulf" boat races, too!

I've been to general admission shows and I don't like them because they're generally chaotic. Lots of people pushing on one another makes for a dangerous environment. I like having a specific seat that is MY spot. Even if it's not the best spot in the venue, it's MY spot and if someone tries to take it I can have security deal with it. I don't like being pushed and pulled on by a bunch of drunken lunatics.

Terri,
Please keep us posted of any details you get on this show. I'm seriously considering booking a condo this weekend. I'd like to go to this if it's going to be well organized. Thanks!

But it's going to be in Alabama . . .

I had to say it, since we're both Georgia girls! LOL

BTW, I checked the NASCAR schedule to make sure they weren't racing at Talladega that weekend, and they aren't. Of course right after I checked I realized that I wouldn't be taking I-20 so it wouldn't matter. Duh! Then I checked the Auburn football schedule, and they're at home that Saturday against Arkansas. That won't help the traffic situation on the way home.

I think this will be fun and it's for a good cause, and well I've never been there so why not??
The only bad thing is it's hurricane season. Don't know if I'll stay for BP or not although I like him well enough.
