should become (semi)regulars!
On it's own, rearranged a little that would be a GREAT set. That if *anyone* were to complain about, they would be being a tool. (Okay. Stick Prayer & wanted in for an encore).

I would way sooner pay face value for an o2 ticket for those 12 songs alone than *any* set they are going to play. And it IS NOT about rarities (wtf are y'all so obsessed with that?), but about playing their BEST songs, rather than their most popular. It's ridiculous that they are doled out like rewards for good behaviour. It really is. Bon Jovi SEVERELY undersestimate their audience.

Just imagine them actually being a regular, humble, down to earth rock band, playing that set in a club. How ****ing awesome would that be?!*

*There are MANY regular, humble, down to earth rock bands who play sets this good in clubs. Go see them.

Jon's afraid the dullard fans who latched onto the band during their country phase will get bored by rarities.

Surely he will dust off the back catalogue and give Europe the good stuff.

oh man i hope so...

the reason for me at least that i would want to hear rarities is bec i want to see them play songs that i havent heard before. Yes, thats right...EVER.

I wouldnt want them to pick their best songs honestly because i really enjoy all of them so who is to say what is their best. I think their songwriting is fantastic and as performers they are fantastic and to leave so much on the cutting room floor every tour is a travesty. I am a super hard core fan however, so i realize even on this board i may be out there on this topic...

The JBJ solo gig at Starland was such a highlight for me and believe me the music was not played at its best but i got to see my man up there actually reveling in some stuff that meant something to him that for whatever reason he does not allow himself to do on ANY level during a regular tour.

One for you...one for me....where is that? Its nowhere - its - "okay all for you" (to the causal fan) "please dont go to the bathroom even though you have been drinking all night, EVER". May be a great business decision but thats all it is. There is certainly room for compromise.

If they didnt have a catalog of great songs and they were a mediocre band then whatever but that is hardly the case - a band who released an album of jovi outtakes would have a hit album...i was so impressed when Radio was played somewhat...

At this point, with jon and his telepromter - i really wonder if its lazy but i dont think so i just think he cant bare the sitting/bathroom breaks at all.

when bruce plays some rare stuff do people go to the bathroom? does he just deal?

i agree with the basis c'mon feet but not that any song should become semi-regular - we have enough "must-plays" already

and they should really learn what an encore means...no way should it be wanted prayer ad infinitum. To completely eliminate any sort of mystery from that most special part of a show is just... kinda dumb.

But how far out there am i really...? I believe the all-mattering once but up some kind of setlist-building metrics that was a great compromise to prevent stagnation. SFTP i love and maybe one or two like that can be played every night but man i dont think its necc - especially over a 3 night stand in your hometown or any multiple gig town.

i got smacked bc i saw the "standard" setlist TWICE and that caused me to drop out (i think it was the actual tipping point for me).

There should not be a "standard" set. there can be a "standard structure" ala the all-mattering but what happened to so many this tour is you get the same exact show.

Setlist stagnation is the issue. And i think it directly correlates with the quality of the "sparkle" of a show as well as musicianship, especially in a live setting. A band that plays the same stuff is not fresh or vital...they belong on broadway.

And if you have the privilege to OPEN a STADIUM in your HOMETOWN which HAPPENS to be the same hometown as BRUCE then you SHOW UP on NIGHT NUMBER ONE with a blow-out performance and continue it the rest of the run.

I expect better because they ARE better. They arent old, or tired, or whatever.

If you wanna settle, well then you are basically enabling what is happening and they will continue to perform for the lowest common denominator EXCLUSIVELY.

Im not asking for Starland every night - im asking for something every night. EVERY NIGHT.

If thats too much then ill just have to hang for another Starland...and hope...or a Richie tour...or Dave tour...because honestly my bootleg collection is starting to stink from stagnating staleness...

dont give up on them and let them coast...they are better than this - they are great - and for whatever amount of money they charge - we should hold them to SOME degree of that...

my peace...

No matter what they do, they just can't please everyone.

You know that saying "you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time"

I really believe this is the case, and in my opinion if the majority of the people leave feeling great, (and from what I've read on different sites, the majority has been happy) then the band has done their job.

Having said that I would love to hear "one wild night" I really love that song.

I don't really care for "Captain Crash" and they played it the 2nd night at Meadowlands, but you know what, it didn't even matter that I don't like it, would I have loved to have heard something else in its place, sure but I still enjoyed the song and the energy around me.

Crash was played the 2nd and 3rd nights. It was the best on the 3rd night as it provided me with the perfect bathroom break since I chose to have a couple of glasses of wine as I do at home when listening to the band.

And for those keeping track, I'm now 8 for 11 on this tour. LOL But a couple of performances each of Dry County and Always MORE than cancel out all those Capt. Crashes!

You lost any sort of merit when you said Richie was back to being any alcoholic when he was chewing gum starting with the Philly shows.

Bruce says *f u c k you* and he plays what he wants to. He doesn't care if anyone goes to the bathroom.

When there were protests after he wrote "41 Shots" and the press asked him if he would stop playing it, he said (and I paraphrase) "If people are offended by listening to a song, that means I need to play it more times so that they understand it."

I have personally been at shows when Bruce told the audience to shut the f u c k up and let him sing. I have also heard him say that if you didn't like the show to leave - your money is at the door.

Bruce is that awesome

If Jon wants to copy something from Bruce, this is one of those things he should.
