Default Gillette Stadium not selling well

It appears that way at least. I just checked for 8 seats, and lower levels came up next to the stage. Granted, the show is still 5 months away, but not off to a good start. Of course, people could have opted for cheaper seats, but my guess is sales are low.

I had a bad feeling about this. The band picked up some really bad press from the Mohegan fiasco, so non-diehards could be balking. Die-hards following the sets obviously aren't rushing to get tickets.

They've played Gillette Stadium 3 times:

2002: They gave away thousands of tickets. Attendance was around 43,000, and the Goo Goo Dolls and Sheryl Crow opened up.
2006: Supposedly sold out with Nickelback opening up.
2011: Supposedly sold out with Kid Rock opening up.

Sounds like they're gonna have to add a big name opener for this show to fill the seats.

I'm quite interested to know how all the dates are selling. They are playing some huge venues this tour.

They've done stadium shows in Boston plenty of times, so I think it'll be close to full come show time. The one that's really confusing is Ford Field. I don't know who decided to book that venue over the Palace, a venue they probably wouldn't even sell out with half of the capacity. Do they really think they'll be able to fill a stadium in Detroit in this economy while charging so much for tickets? We'll see how much they beat Mitt Romney's turnout by.

I say they'll be lucky if it's 2/3 full.

I'm excited to see them in Gillette. I live in MD and the DC and Penn St. dates didn't work for me. This show is on a Saturday. Should be a nice 3 day weekend centered around Jovi up in Boston. The Boss was amazing there in August.

Hopefully any setlist "difficulties" are smoothed out by then.

The show with Kid Rock was in 2010... Sorry I'm OCD with shows I was at.

Anyway, I think it's a bit too early, since a lot of people don't settle on summer plans yet. If it still looks like this in June then it will be a soft crowd.

Might be a bigger ticket push once the album comes out too.

I noticed last week $20 seats for night 2 Jersey were not available and now they are. Were they holding these seats back originally or are they reducing prices because tix may not be selling as well as they would have liked?

My guess is the new album won't help one bit. Jon REALLY needs to make the right decision on 2nd and possibly 3rd singles. He needs to go with I'm With You for radio. Amen or The Fighter, and the album is dead in the water.

They just posted on Facebook:

New England friends – tickets for Saturday, July 20 at Gillette Stadium are on sale now! Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/BonJovi_NE

Given tickets have been on sale for a week, that tells me not a lot were sold so far.

The band just posted ANOTHER reminder on Facebook about the Gillette show. Seriously, that can't be good.
