Because I've traveled to see Bon Jovi in a variety of venues over the last 2 tours, I get email from not only Live Nation and Ticketmaster, but also from a lot of venues. They have been filling up my inbox lately with one special offer after another. The ones that come in shortly before show dates can best be described as fire sales. Also tours that you wouldn't think would have any trouble selling tickets are canceling shows (i.e. The Eagles/The Dixie Chicks/Keith Urban). A small venue near me, emails offers of FREE tickets for weekend shows about twice a month. The shows aren't by unknown bands either. I think things are going to look very different when it comes to the concert industry before too long. Unfortunately, since this is the music industry, they'll probably add MORE packages and high-priced tickets trying to milk every last dollar, pound, euro, etc. before they make any constructive changes.
