Salaam Aleikum,

Your brother's favorite band is one. Just sayin'

It's not the same, but every show has had the same 15 core songs every tour now for at least 10 years now.

true I may have been fan since Circle album but I'm not picky. I've been fan of other bands for many years (10-15), and just like that I don't get tired of any song they play, same with bon jovi.

Iron Maiden plays the same songs on each night. Same with Kiss and Guns N Roses. They rotate some songs on different tour but still is mostly same.

Bon Jovi has changed setlist lot of each tour.

Bounce Tour: Bounce, Undivided, Misunderstood, Joey, Hook Me Up, Going The Distance, Everyday.

Have A Nice Day Tour: Story Of My Life, Novocaine, Complicated, I want to loved, Welcome To Wherever You Are

Crush Tour: Two Story Town, One Wild Night, Say It Isn't So, Next 100 Years, Captain Crash

Those songs are no longer played or very rarely, so it shows they change setlist on each tour.

Fans want to hear 'WSYCGH' so they play it more, majority of their fans are not hardcore fans, they don't follow the band around each night. Bon Jovi pleases those fans first, then the hardcore ones. If they played songs YOU wanted them to play, people would begin to leave (atleast in North America).

This is still the greatest hits tour, they will play greatest hits material.
On Lost Highway tour they played more LH songs, same with HAND/Bounce/Crush tours. Sure The Circle tour they didn't play many circle songs, but that can be said for many bands, they release album and hardly play any songs off the album.

Like I said, stop being so negative. Just have fun and worry about other things in life. There are still tons of bands out there

Fans want to hear Prayer, Wanted, Bad Name, etc. They don't really care about Who Says, really. It's reaction even here is usually only luke warm. The band (Jon) plays Who Says all the time because of
a.) Jon thinks it was a monster hit (which it really wasn't)
b.) it's an easy song for Jon to sing
c.) he loves the song.

Then this is what, Greatest Hits Tour #7 by now? We're not saying that we need to hear the entire These Days album every night, but there are MANY MANY BETTER songs that will get the same reception as Captain Crash, Who Says, or Lost Highway that they could play.

For me personally this is still The Circle Tour part 2.

Sure, the GH came out in between, and they dropped most of the Cirlce stuff, but since I didn't get to see them last summer here in Europe I sure hope to hear some Circles songs, and more than just WWBTF and WFTWM!
There's no reason to just play hits now, and I'm glad they still playing just as many album cuts as the tour before. I'm not saying I'm 100% happy with their overall song selections, but I don't see a reason why there should be a major change from the 2010 tour to 2011. They've always revisited North America on the same tour, and this coming summer will be the first proper tour in Europe after TC was released, so as I said, to me it's basically the same tour. Just as the first leg of the 1995 tour (Crossroads to the East) is the same tour as all the rest of 1995 to me. Just that TD got released in between, and in the early leg, they were already playing TD stuff.

I'm not a huge fan of Who Says but as a pretty big Bon Jovi fan, I understand that it was actually a "monster hit". However, I would think that a large percentage of casual people that would hear the song wouldn't know it's Bon Jovi playing it. Still to this day, I hear it a lot on the radio and played at stores. Way more than Prayer, Bad Name, It's My Life, etc. At the restaurant I bartend at, I hear it several times a week on our sound system. HAND and Born to Follow pop up every now and then, but Who Says has been played regularly for the past 4 years I've worked there.

I agree. Also, the songs I love the most (BPromiseland, IAm, LMStanding, IBelieve, STBelieveIn...) are played the least

That's a common thing amongst BJ fans these days.

Still, I enjoy the heck out of their live shows, and I've always been lucky to get those rarities. Still waiting for "I Believe" and "Never Say Goodbye" though.

Sadly, I think Who Says will be in every set until their end of days. It is just 5 minutes and 50 "It's Alrights" we can sit down through.

I think we can expect more of the same until the end of the tour. There will be suprise or two I am sure, but I wouldn't expect any big changes to the show. If they hired me, this is what I'd suggest.

Drop Sleep for the rest of the tour and forget about it until year 2020. In the year 2020, you can play it again if you like. You can continue playing WGIGO until you write your next upbeat, silly (non-hit) rock song. I say this with love.

Pick one from each line and revolve in following shows:

Born to be my baby, Raise Your hands, Lay Your Hands On Me (with intro - Jon vocals), Wild in the Streets, or I'd Die for You

Lost Highway, Whole lotta leaving, I Love this Town, or The Last Night

Always, Bed of Roses, or This Ain't a Love Song (1 at every show PERIOD. This is not too much to ask. If you wish to play all three in the same show, in this case, go for it)

Living in Sin, In these Arms, Wild is the Wind, or Mystery Train.

Just older, Story of My Life, Captain Crash, or Saturday Night

Richie: LYHOM (with intro and new solo and outro), Homebound Train, Stranger, or whatever from your solo stuff that your little heart desires

These Days, I'll Be There For You, or When We Were Beautiful

Say It Isn't So, One Wild Night, Everday, I Want To Be Loved, Something for the Pain, Superman Tonight, or I Believe (All rock singles or considered for singles. Again, play as many as you like. Knock yourself out.)

Runaway, Thorn, Tokyo Road, This is Life, This is Love.

Have a Nice day, Love's the Only Rule, No Apologies, or Bounce

Faith w/ Sympathy, Damned, or Hey God

There are several benefits... 1) They can still play all of their "every setlist" songs at every show (even though I don't think the world would end if WGIGO, Who Says, or even Bad Name was dropped for a show). Yes, songs like IBT4Y, Runaway, HAND, Saturday Night, LH, and faith that are in heavy rotation will need to be slowed down a little. But trust me, it is for the greater good. Plus there is still a balance of the old and new. 2) We will be spared the fear of receiving LH, WLOL, and ILLT all in the same set. 3) The real fans are guarenteed a fan favorite. 4) Jon can still have a favorite or 2 of his own 5) Picking only 1 from each line will free up space (if they were planning on playing more than 20 songs) for whatever they want (I got the girl, Open All Night, Last man standing, etc) or what they think we'd want (Something to believe in, Letting you go, Dry County, etc). 6) For songs not listed, that are currently being revolved, they can continue revolving. 7) There are few songs listed that haven't already been played at least once this tour. Bounce, Say It Isn't So, I Want to be Loved are not Dry County... shouldn't take too long to figure out. There is not a song listed that hasn't been played this last decade.

AND it is still a great show for everyone! Plenty of hits to keep the casuals entertained... everyone wins.

I appreciate your optimism. And you are right in some of what you said. When touring they change 5 or 6 songs from their last album to the current album they are promoting. They even change a 2 or 3 deep cuts. For instance they'd never done Something For the Pain acoustic before and it has been a while since they had played it. And Richie sang Homebound Train... a song they have played maybe 3 times in the last 10 years.

But listen, this is what I think you are misunderstanding... I think our big complaint is not what they ARE playing but what they ARE NOT playing. I am sure you have your favorites too. But when you have seen them once or more a tour for 10, 15, 20, 25 years and you still haven't heard a song that changed your life... or the song that made you a crazy enough fan to spend the kind of money they are charging these days... or a song that you feel represents the band's brilliants in favor of We Got It Going On night after night, it can be frusterating. And there are constructive ways of getting your message across and there are negative ways. And we should be more focused on being constructive. read my message above. I think it has some good ideas. The kind of show where everyone wins.

Also, do you know how few hits Springsteen plays on a night by night basis? And how much he changes his set? Well... Few hits and usually in the encore. And changes the set alot, pulling out songs from left field... and the crowd stays until the lights go up. Now, Bon Jovi is my favorite band. And though many will disagree, I think they are better than the Boss. But there is always room for improvement.
