Maybe they would rather donate a million dollars to Oprah to build houses than loose a million dollars to go play somewhere. The cost is the same. The benefits of one far outweigh the benefits of the other. They don't go to certain countries due to the risks involved. Jon has said he wants to play in Israel but they never have and and probably never will. No artist in their right mind would stage a concert in a war zone.

And also, if the band wanted to visit an exotic place to just go there, wouldn't they do it on vacation?? It's not like the only time they get out of their houses is when they go on tour.

Why would they want to lose money to just go play somewhere exotic that might just end up being half full at best?
That's what I don't get about that way of thinking that some of you guys have, it's amazing.

Because they are musicians.
Because it is their job.
Because they love their job.
Because their fans love them.
Because they "love" their fans.
Because they HAVE money.
Because that would be the right thing to do.
Because we buy their albums.
Because we respect their job.
By buying their albums.
That is least and only we can do.
Because they don't visit our country.
That is dilemma.
Because we don't have all that money to travel places.
And because we don't get any respect from that.
But they get.
They have money to travel and get whores.
But they don't travel.
BECAUSE MONEY HAS MADE THEM BLIND, COLD and STUPID.

So you seriously think that Bon Jovi should pay money to get to play for people like you? You're not living in this world.

Small arenas don't cover costs. They need to be sold out in order for the promoter to get any money. And promoters won't take the risk that they couldn't sell out the arena.

Just because you are pissed off that they didn't visit your country it is no reason to start a thread like this. You can't seem to understand that it is not good business for them to play a show that will cost them money. Do you think the band sit around and discuss what venues they want to play, which countries? It will be calculated by the album sales in various countries, the number of people who are likely to attend a show in any given place etc and all this will be done by the management, the tour promoters. Bon Jovi still do long tours in many countries, you can't expect them to play every single venue in the world to satisfy ever fan.

What's wrong with what you call "open air spaces"?

They played Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal because there is no big enough stadium in Montreal for a summer gig for band like BJ. There is the Olympic Stadium, it's huge, but it's covered, it's expensive and the sound sucks big time.
Parc Jean Drapeau is a very cool venue for summer concerts.

No, it's given them the chance to choose, to take the time they want to go where they want. And as the good performers AND businessmen that they are, they go for the win-win options.
