I don't see the band playing a festival over here to be honest, and I don't really have any problem with that- like Walrus said, the casual fans would irritate the crap out of me, and depending on which festival it was, the cost and the lineup, I'm not sure how many diehards would pay that much to go and see Jovi play for what would probably be a shorter set than normal.

Also, how are the non-London and Manchester gigs pointless?

And eddie- Glasto and HRC weren't Springsteen's only UK dates, he's playing Glasgow next week. Just thought I'd point that out before Oli does

The non-London/Manchester shows are pointless because they're in obscure places, quite small stadiums, and the performances tend to either be shorter or just worse in general.

Please retract that utterly ridiculous statement.

So you're saying that the midlands shouldn't get any shows? And how are Coventry or Wolverhampton etc obscure?

For a start, there's no need for those types of shows. They don't attract LOADS of people like Manchester/London does, looking back on past shows there's nothing exciting about them. I think shows like Southampton, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Bristold and Hull fall into this category. That's no offence to anybody who comes from these places, I'm just trying to speak logically. For example, Manchester is pretty much in the middle, whereas London is down South, with Glasgow being the North. That should be enough.

They attract around 40-50 thousand each show, bring money into the host's city and attract fans who don't want to go to London or Manchester.

Your outlook is blinkered and logic truly mind bendingly ignorant. You can never tell how good a show has been until you've seen it first hand. I've seen Bon Jovi in Dublin, London and Coventry. The Coventry show was the best experience of a Bon Jovi show I've seen. Jon was so impressed with the crowd he said he'd keep coming back.

Go to a show, then spout rubbish.

I really hope this is true!! I really enjoyed Hard Rock Calling this year when i went to see The Killers and with the reaction Bruce got i can see Jovi going down a storm!

Even though i do agree i'd rather a London show of their own...but it would be nice to see the guys in a different event such as a festival like this! Plus i'm pretty sure alot of hard core fans will go! Especially if its the only London show their going to do!

The only thing I wonder about is if Jovi will play Glastonbury, after seeing Springsteen do it. Michael Eavis has stated he's in discussions with two major bands next year who have never played the festival before.
Nah, he did mention the two bands. One was The Rolling Stones and I forget the other, but it was not Bon Jovi

I saw Bon Jovi in Dublin in 2001, I thought Matchbox twenty were better that day.
