Totally agree - not that I abide by those limitations though.
To me, if a movie has ever been aired on TV in the UK, it's open season and I can go and download it for nothing. After all, being a Sky subscriber, I've already paid for it.
Likewise, having had clearout of all my VHS movies many years ago due to the amount of space, should I really have to buy them all again on DVD?

Is it wrong to sell a CD after you've ripped it to MP3?
Moreso, is it really legal for a store to sell pre-owned materials?

I know this is the way we feel about all of this, but it's often not the way record companies feel about it. Jon might be all for bootlegging everything but a record company is against it and sadly has the final say in it. This means that even if Jovitalk's policy would be for the sharing of bootlegs it could still mean that a record company will press charges against sharing something that is in their opinion copyrighted. Considering how they'll have the money for legal battles and Jovitalk won't they'll win it even though they might not be right about it in the end.

A little explanation about file sharing here. It's not really about the piracy, though that puts everyone at risk. Sharing this radio broadcast is not piracy in the sense that stealing a new CD is piracy. This board used to have a file sharing forum and it was a bloodbath. There was constant fighting and whining and people contacting the board owner. At the time the board owner's policy was not to ban anyone - ever. It basically made the file sharing board completely unmanageable.

I was the mod at the time and I quit - basically because I was not being supported by the board owner and then that forum was closed down.

There is a file sharing board elsewhere that was started when this one shut down. Needless to say it is run very differently.

I'm not disagreeing that it should be shared on here. I don't think it should, at the risk for the site. I'm just stating my opinion that the law is stupid. But, it is the law.

If anyone knows of a recording where the absoloute radio jingles have been removed, or at least made less prominant, and is willing to share then please feel free to pm me (I have a recording but am not savy enough to be able to do anthing about the jingles myself!)

who is the board owner?

Managed to get a top quality version last night.
Had downloaded one on Tuesday night but it was a bad transfer and very "tinny".
It's on the i-pod now and will be played for our entire journey to Great Yarmouth tomorrow.
May work on it this afternoon or tonight and try to split each song, rather than have it as one 3 hour track.

What's the best programme for that as I'm not keen on keeping it as one 3 hour audio track either? Thanks

Not sure at the moment.
Going to play around with some software I have at work and see if I can do it.
Alternatively I'll google for something free.
