A BJ concert without Prayer would be awful. That is their greatest song and greatest hit ever. I hate it if bands try to disown their biggest hits *cough*Nirvana*cough*.

The following hits are 'must plays' in a BJ concert, even though I don't necessarily like all of them (I'm not too fond of #2 and #3 but they are still must-plays):

1. Prayer
2. Bad Name
3. Wanted
4. Bad Medicine
5. It's My Life
6. Who Says You Can't Go Home

I am still going to disagree. Prayer is more upbeat than It's My Life in my opinion. Prayer is an anthem compared to It's My Life too. I am sure it could have gone either way since they only played 2 or 3 classic hit songs at the end of that concert, but they chose IML. Still a great DVD though, just watched it the other day.

Jason F.

I don't think a concert without Prayer would be a "real" Bon Jovi show...
How would you even know the show's over when they haven't performed Prayer yet? I would always be waiting...

What the...?
Who Says a "Must Play"?
Then you need to add Crash too IMO.

Well Who Says You Can't Go Home is really big in the states, which is why it is played at pretty much every show. I believe it was really big just about everywhere. It's kind of nailed into every setlist, and a must. It's definitely not one of my favorite songs, but NJ had the song on its commercial for the longest time, so I am forced to live with it. I don't see the commercial that often anymore though.

Regards,

Jason F.

Who Says was a #1 hit.
If it were up to me, the title track is the must play song from that album, but then again, hard to argue with a #1 hit.

Of course if it were up to me, they will always play BOBITA back to back!

Well, yes, I know Who Says was huge in the US.
Just speaking for my own country - and I can't even remember if it entered the Top 20.

I would be perfectly fine without that particular song - but I agree with the rest of your list. Must Plays without a doubt...
Following the logic of success - as far as I know Always was their biggest commerical hit to date (correct me if I'm mistaken)...and nobody seems that bothered (in comparison to Prayer for example) if that song isn't part of a setlist.

That's a good point actually.
The only 'logic' (and I use that word VERY loosely because really there's no logic when it comes to setlist) I can think of is because the band has the following holy ballads:

1. Never Say Goodbye
2. I'll Be There For You
3. Bed Of Roses
4. Always

(I'd include This Ain't A Love Song there as well but I'm not sure if that was a hit anywhere but Asia).

#2 and #4 are HUGE hits, so maybe they can't choose and therefore pick any random ballad from that list.

I don't think it did.... We seem to get it purely for the fact it gets the crowd going...

I wish they'd leave it out though.

How true is that?

As we all know who's deciding on the songs...
