It's not like people visiting Download will start buying Bon Jovi CD's, now is it?

Salaam Aleikum,

maybe not, but whos to say ther wont be loads of " closet " jovi fans there, iv been download 4 times and you would be surprised how many jovi t-shirts are bein worn, and how many jovi tunes are bein blasted out at the campsites with even the most most thrashiest rock fans havin a sing song and gettin in to it

Vie Cant see you Jon!!! I can see it now, and their photos would turn out crap

As hilarious as seeing the Backstagers getting pushed around by the moshers, it just ain't gonna happen. I think that amongst some metal fans, Jovi are seen as a guilty pleasure a lot of the time and they just wouldn't be asked to do it.

Although if it meant that we didn;t have to hear Who Says You Can't Go Home or Captain Crash, I would be very happy

I can't see it happening either really ... I was there this year, and while Def Leppard really did work (surprised even me), I think it was largely down to the nostalgia factor. They only played three songs that they released after Vault in 1995, and one of those was Rock On, their cover of a 1974 David Essex song. Everything else was from the 80s and early 90s ... the eras that a huge number of rock fans are nostalgic for at the moment. I just don't think BJ have the same nostalgia factor

yeah they dont because they actually have good current material...i just watch download on the hd palladia channel and def leppard were awful - just awful - and i like them a lot - its just like motley and tesla who were also not very good and i like them a lot...a band solidifies their nostalgia status when their lead singer can not breathe bc he is too out of shape to sing a verse...it was incredibly dissappointing - you cant be blown off the stage by journey?!

i mean jbj cant hit the highs but the man works incredibly hard to stay in shape and that is a MAIN factor in this bands continuing live success sound-wise - elliot and neil sound ridiculous - they dont even try to sing the words...and not in a chris robinson "ill make my own melody as i feel" way...they can not BREATHE...i dont care if they arent in shape body-wise but anybody who thinks DL sounded good on download wasnt watching what i was....

that being said the tribute to rick allen was very surprising and very touching....

Default nostalgia

Leppard are nothing more than a nostalgia act these days, as are Whitesnake, which is why they fitted the Download criteria - old acts that the 15-21 year olds aren't embarrassed to like.
Jovi don't fit that criteria.

Jon doesn't do nostalgia.

Can you imagine the set list - even more vanilla than usual as they wouldn't be playing to their own crowd.

Awful idea.

I'd say they would be more likely to play at Glastonbury than at Download.....

I thought they were decent, and I was actually there, so I win! I still think Joe's voice holds up fairly well, his voice is better nowadays than David Coverdale's anyway.

The tribute to Rick Allen just made it perfect, I will fully admit to having tears in my eyes at that point

yeah me too

ill give it to you if you were there but man in hd and 5.1...might be a better tell - i wonder if its oout there on the net - i was just really taken aback because their harmonies are usually good and theyve always gotten a bad rap on their signing ability - (oveprroduced etc,) but they sounded shockingly awful but again i also havent followed them so i was just expecting an 80s or 90s lep maybe...

i wonder what i would think of jovi if i took a decade hiatus....still think htey sound good though - esp last year....
