Jovi don't fit that criteria.

Jon doesn't do nostalgia.

Can you imagine the set list - even more vanilla than usual as they wouldn't be playing to their own crowd.

Awful idea.
I agree with everything here. Even though Download is getting really 'dilluted' with epic amounts of radio-friendly bullshit with every year, i don't think we will EVER see Bon Jovi play there.

What would be the point?

Michael Eavis (Glastonbury organiser) said today he was booking the three biggest headliners in the world, technically Bon Jovi are in that category.

Maybe Bon Jovi will do A Bruce Springsteen on the next tour and just play festivals in the UK......

I think they'd be an uproar if they were added to the bill at Glastonbury, although I think on the night they'd be well received and hailed the best act in years to headline.

Glastonbury i can see them doing, and it wouldnt be to far fetched idea especially as they did Rock in Rio festival Lisboa on the Lost Highway tour and Brucie doing it last year.

I think it will be def be U2 for Glasto this year though as one of the acts

The rolling stones, u2 and radiohead. They are the three bands eavis has been after for years and undoubtedly three of the biggest in the world

The last time i saw Leppard/Whitesnake it was clear that Elliot and Coverdale had trouble hitting some of the higher notes, or notes which required sustain. Don't get me wrong, they both had their moments were they sounded good, and as bands the music was first class, but i remember saying to my mate that they were both doing what Jon does on Prayer, in letting the crowd sing the harder parts, which wouldn't be a problem on the odd song, but it seemed to be a fair few for Elliot. He really did look f*cked after 7 or 8 songs.

As for Jovi at Download, i can't see it happening. Hope I'm wrong though, as it would be a great crowd to win over.

Have to say re: Glastonbury - No, No and thrice No!

Springsteen absolutely bombed this year. Number of my 'non rock / metal' friends went and left 30 minutes in. Part of that was his own fault because he didn't change his set list to reflect a non loyal crowd but part was a miscalculation on Eavis' side that Springsteen just isn't what the Glastonbury crowd want to hear.

Neither are Bon Jovi. Its fairly obvious that BJ divide people's opinons in a big way, more than Springsteen I would say. For every person who is a Glastonbury demograhpic who likes BJ there would be 4 who wouldn't. It would be a disaster for the band imo.

They want The Killers, Radiohead, U2, Kings of Leon - they don't want an 80's hair metal band. Now, we know they are more than that but try convincing a Radiohead fan!!

Bring on the O2 I say - indoor gigs at last. No stadiums, no fields, no rain, no standing around for 6 hours. Most enjoyable gig I've seen from BJ since 1995 was the O2 first time around.
