okay, if he misses europe I might still go to the gig, but it'll be bittersweet. more bitter than sweet really. it wont be the same and it won't be near as great as I pictured it when they announced it. at least i've seen em with richie once, i cant complain. and yeah, he should not rush anything if that means playing lousy because he got off rehab sooner than expected. but we've all read and heard about people's stories whilst in rehab. I wonder if it's really helping him. and yeah he did this to himself but hey, try going through a divorce + a breakup + the death of your father. in his case, he fell into alcoholism and like must substances, even if you're believe to be 'cured', you're alway bound to fall for it easily.

and what annoys me is that around 40 to 50% who go to a jovi concert don't even know who richie is or don't even know that Bon Jovi is a band rather than a solo act. hence, they won't miss richie.

That being said, have you been or do have tickets to a show that takes place post (this) rehab?
No, I don't. The closest show that came to me this year was either Des Moines or Chicago, and that's not really in the budget for me. I've seen them on the last two tours though.

They don't have to. It's the way the band is and has always been. The name bares Jon's name. It's not like if more people missed Richie it would make a difference.

I agree that Seb states his opinion rather harshly and there are obviously different ways he can say it without coming off as a bit of an ass.

HOWEVER, I always laugh at the fact that when Seb says something along those lines people only comment on how much of a "douche" he is. They never properly argue or bring across valid backed up points. It's kind of pathetic to be honest... They see that they lost the argument but bring up a completely unrelated point so that we get distracted. That bullshit doesn't work on most people here.

Just watched the video - Richie's solo wasn't the greatest but did it kill the song? Not at all.

Wasn't that the first time they had played it in (many) years?

Did they rehearse/soundcheck it?

Jon can use a teleprompter is he doesn't know the lyrics, Richie doesn't have that luxury.

True, he has been lazy this past decade, and if he hadn't been, he could have improvised something better on the spot.

It wasn't a prefect performance, but i'd never think to jump all over him for it.

The point is that it's not some sort of contest where you need to win - or rather - play foul most of the time. With his harsh way of saying things he is disrespectful to the band he is alleged to love and to the people around here by trampling their opinions like winning a sandbox game. Find it funny all you want, it pisses people off rightly - however brilliant his backup points may be. In fact, it is exactly because he contributes valid points, that people are pissed off and irritated that he needs to put them across the way he does. And when he thinks it's his valuable knowledge or his profound theories that spark the more interesting discussions on here, then his self-perception is misleading him - most of the time the reason is, well, how much of a "douche" he is.

I think it's time you grew up and stopped following this Seb guy around like a love sick puppy.

He never comes to your rescue, do you notice that? does it hurt your heart? do you cry yourself to sleep at night to a picture of Holland while listening to clog music?

Suck it up and grow a pair.

Same. It certainly wasn't perfect but it wasn't horrible. I'd take it any concert I'm at cause the casuals aren't gonna now what the original sounds like unless they are the casual that owns Slippery and Crossroad.

I'm pretty sure Richie has a teleprompter. I've never been behind the stage but I've seen pictures of the Circle from behind and there are two--one for Jon and one for Richie.

Hey, at least they TRIED to do something different.

In my honest opinion, after seeing them last week, I truly believe they should never have even scheduled a tour for 2011, and when Richie went into rehab, canceled it for good. This band (Jon, in particular) is simply done playing on stage. They all look tired and bored. Phil has done a great job, but if he couldn't learn more songs (which is understandable) then this thing should have just ended. The sets are boring, short and worst of all, without any passion. I'm sick and tired of the "Jon is 49" excuse. Anyone who has seen Aerosmith or the Rolling Stones knows Jon just doesn't enjoy what he's doing anymore.

Is this the way he really wants people to remember the band if this is the end?
