Hilarious (and false) quote from Jon

There was an article in a Boston newspaper, Q&A style with Jon. Sorry, I don't have the article with me, but will look for it. But the bottom line is, when the question about setlists came up, Jon says they don't use a set list like "other bands" on stage. They just pick what to play from shouts out from the crowd.

The article was posted, and he said something about how some bands write a setlist and play it at each show, exactly the same. It's obvious that Bon Jovi do have a core setlist, but they do vary it - even if it's not as much as some of us would like sometimes. They did play over 70 different songs across the O2 shows afterall.

You're right - No mention of him "taking shouts from the crowd". I'll have to smack the person who told me about it.

To be fair though, he has done that sometimes - just not often enough. The best example, I think, is Stick To Your Guns - Jon didn't even know the words, and had to read them from the banners, but he went with it.

I know that some bands vary their setlists a lot more than Bon Jovi do, but the fact that they do at all is a good thing. Some bands literally play the same show night after night.

Yet all the bands I've seen that actually do that have a good standard setlist which I don't mind seeing twice. Bon Jovi haven't had a good core setlist in over 10 years now.

He's come up with some bullshit in his time but this takes the biscuit. He has a Word document saved on his laptop with The generic set list for the tour. Occasionally he may cut out a few songs and write in some new ones. He's basically lying.

So you go to a dozen shows per tour because...?
