That was *totally* silly. He knows me, knows how I feel and think about the setlist and knows why I do it, so there's no need for you to be such a wise-ass either.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

And whats more Jon knows that there are diehards at every gig, who go to multiple shows. Just like he knew there were fans at NMS night 4 from all over the world but it didnt stop him from being such a cockhead.

A great quote from the American Express -gig where people got to ask questions from Jon. There were a couple of questions on why he doesn't change the setlists and play the more obscure songs and he went: "Yeah, yeah, I get it, no more Bad Name". As if that was what the people meant or what they wanted. But Jon chose to ignore them just like he ignores the die-hards most of the time. He can write a setlist that pleases die-hards, like the Starland show, but he chooses not to.

He's come up with some bullshit in his time but this takes the biscuit. He has a Word document saved on his laptop with The generic set list for the tour. Occasionally he may cut out a few songs and write in some new ones. He's basically lying.
Seems to be doing that more and more lately. A few weeks ago it was about ticket prices and now about setlist. SO frustrating!

I was trying to make a point, and that point is that a setlist isn't all the goes into making a good show. You've said yourself, after going to shows with pretty plain looking setlists, that you had a good time because of other factors.

Hello there ! My name is Eduardo, I´m from Brazil, this is my first post here ...
I´ve been reading a lot about the setlist issue, here´s what I think about it ...

I honestly think that this has become a huge issue because we are all die hards, therefore we want to hear the real gems live (of course) ...

Very often I travel to the US with the only purpose of going to Bon Jovi concerts ... I´ve done it during HAND, LH and the Cirlcle tours a lot ... More than 20 times ... and I can tell you that with the exception of the seattle concerts , where I got Roulette, get ready, shot through the heart, something for the pain, bed of roses, thorn, Love´s the only rule, the only "gem" I got the last years was blood money in Sunrise 2008. And I´m still going to both Chicago gigs. And the reason I´m still going to 2 shows in the US is because I enjoyed every concert that I´ve seen there, even if I didn´t get any rarities ... I enjoyed it because every single time that I saw them they were on fire and gave me a hell of a good time ... of course I would go nuts if they played STBI, DC , WITW , but I´ve come to the conclusion that the setlist is just part of making a good show. The perfomance is a huge part. And they have focused on that recently . From what I´ve been reading, they´ve been on fire night after night.

Now back to the die hard issue: there´s going to be a concert here in São Paulo on October 6. The crowd here is the opposite of the US crowds (I´m speaking about who goes, not behavior). In the US, 95% of the audience are casual concert goers and 5% are die hards. Here we have the opposite, mainly because we only get a BIG BIG concert once every 5 years or so. So the die hards manage to get there before everyone else. I´ve been talking to people who is going with me to São Paulo, they are die hards as well, and they are saying: "OMG, I´m gonna hear prayer, btbmb, bad name, wanted live ... I´ll go nuts" ... Why ? Because they will hear those songs live for the first time ever, unlike you guys, who get a cross to cross tour every time they release a cd (lucky you hehe).

Of course I agree that they could drop WGIGO and replace it with 99 in the shade, and so on, but this has never been their thing. So, for me, I try to enjoy a good perfomance. And if I get something special, I´ll go even more nuts. That´s what I think !!

Regards

I´m sorry for my english, I´m not a native speaker or writer.

Just another example ...

I´m also a die hard for pink floyd ... I went to 6 Roger Waters concerts during the Dark Side of the moon tour knowing that the setlist of all 6 gigs were going to be the same, not a single change ... they played the same set for 3 years without a single change ... and I went to 6 concerts because the perfomance was incredible ...
