Default HOLY Crap......talk about finding new ways to gouge the fans

Why does the band I love need to be such a money-grabbing operation?

Those same fanclub setas that used to face value tickets for a fanclub pre-sale are now............

EXCLUSIVE tickets through backstage that get marked up 300%.

WTF is that????

I have spent so much time defending these guys, but the more I defend them the more difficult they make it to defend them.

I'm honestly starting to think that business guides the good ship Jovi much more than any passion that they have for making music. Everything they do is obviously calculated to capitalize on sales.....I can picture it now, a bunch of marketing people crunching #'s saying "Jon, we've gotta find a way to capitalize on country right now.....what can you come up with?"......VOILA! - Lost Highway.

Fair enough it's a good record (not near their best - but solid), but this ticket business, that's just a whole new kick in the nuts.

I for one have been on stage a few times, I have been front row a few times, and I certainly won't be one of the exploited fans shelling out $400 for seat that should rightfully be no more than a disgusting $135.

I'll join the face-value folk in the rows after 15. I'll have a great time at the shows I go to and I certainly won't feel exploited by the back stage moneygrabbing.

Absolutely the WORST fanclub out there - they have really tainted my whole Bon Jovi experience.

I'm sorry, I just had to share and get this off my chest.

I'm getting sick of all this BS - if they spent as much time focussing on the music as they do about finding ways to screw loyal fans we'd have been treat to AMAZING MUSIC these past 10 years.

Final thought, I was always under the impression that loyalty was to be rewarded; why is it then,as a loyal Bon Jovi Supporter, all you get is a fatter bill at the end of the day. What's up with that?

Cheers,

Mikey

Yup totally agree with you. I had some dilemma when I booked tickets for the Pru and decided to pay over the odds for a ticket within the first 15 rows and an on stage pass. I'm still not sure I did the right thing but this is a "one off" trip and I wont be doing it for every tour.

Still don't know how UK ticketing will be managed but I think the day of FC members getting in before GA are long gone, if they think they can make money out of it they will.

That's why I didn't even bother to renew my fan club membership for the last tour, and doesn't look like I'll be doing it for this tour either. I've been front row enough times, and am quite frankly, fed up of the whole "i need to be 2 feet in front of Jon no matter what the cost" attitude.

Y'know what, at Glasgow and MK last year I was GA (Not even gold circle) and still had a blast!!! Met some great people who didn't care where they were, they were just enjoying the music. Let the people who just HAVE to be front row so the band can watch them flashing their eyes at them pay the extortionate prices.

Me, I'll just be bouncing quite as happily at the back as well as the front.

Yeh you are right, I've done front row, slept out and got the t-shirts. One of the best views I had at a Jovi show was the 02, I could see the entire stage and could watch the crowd interaction. If my feelings are right and Wembley is all seated then il be getting tickets in the stands.

I don't think Wembley will be all seated. It was GA for the Metallica show, you can bet they'll cram as many punters in as poss.

Although I'd prob head for the stands too next tour, but that's because I can't face standing all day thru yet another rubbish support act!

Any so called special packages on Backstage should be avoided at all costs.
The fanclub now is one big fat moneymaking machine and is in now way about the 'fans'!

I unfortunately agree totally - i finally broke down and somehow got great seats 19 rows back center stage from ticketmaster the other day - but i was boycotting until recently specifically bc of the fan club seats. i pay 50 bucks to get more expensive seats.....

im a pearl jam and black crowes fan...lets just say its handled MUCH differently...

i was hoping that is was more of a pru situation -

at least you can get a seat for 170...if normal prices are 135 - you couldnt even do that here....

the seats i bought were from tm at face value with charges over $650!!

It is getting very hard to defend...

sad....i never thought i would feel this way about something related to this band...

The people who make the decisions on ticket pricing are scum and I don't particularly think much of the band for letting them do what they're doing! Everybody's quick enough to jump in and say, "Oh, the band don't have any influence over the promoters..." but that's absolute bollocks! If the band kicked up enough of a fuss over it, I can't see how the promoter can push it through.

I had plans to go to 5 or 6 shows this coming summer and even rescheduled our wedding date to accommodate the (predicted) June shows but if they're gonna be charging the sorts of prices that have been turning up on ticketbastard as of late, they can take a flying f**k! I'll happily boycott the bloody concerts cos I refuse to be held over a barrel by unscrupulous people hell bent on turning over an excessively disgusting profit at my expense. It's bad enough when scummy touts do it but it royally takes the p*** when face value prices for a single ticket represent almost two weeks wages!! F**k em - it'd be serves them right if they're playing to mostly empty venues!

It's a sad day when the "cheap" seats are easily $100 a shot. Not sure who to blame but you've gotta figure the band has some say in it. Especially the blatant money grab for the "fan-club" seating.

Maybe I'm not in the right tax bracket to be a Bon Jovi fan anymore!
