I think they should just do what Bruce does and play a completely different set each night. Bruce and E Street just decide what they're gonna open with and then feel the crowd for what they are gonna play next. There's no set rule that you have to play every hit at every show.

Just hope they rehearse the mythical '100 songs' again like they did last tour.

I would rather them practice 50 and rotate regular ones than play 100 and only play certain ones once. I love 'This Aint a Love Song' yet they only did it once I think on the last european tour - seems a waste of effort to practice a song and then only play it once.
they had 10 shows at newark and look what happened....

I know - i remember being underwhelmed by the 10 Newark shows and the setlists.

Don't expect them to change the entire set every night a la Bruce (although does he even do that) but I do think they could take a page out of his book in a number of ways :

1. Greater rotation
2. Bigger Surprises
3. Re-worked versions of older songs
4. Not being afraid to play early material

Counting Crows do the same - you never know what you are going to get from one night to the next.

Yeah, except Bruce doesn't do that at all.

Really? That's what I heard. Anyway his setlist is different every night and you never have an idea what he's gonna play next. I think it's best that way. You might not get all the hits at every show, but who's bothered at the end of the day? Sure I was disappointed I didn't see Jungleland and Thunder Road at Manchester in 2007, but it was a great show nonetheless.

Default crows

Counting Crows are superb live, organic, passionate and spontaneous.

You never know what version of what song from when you are going to get and I like that.

Nah, Bruce's setlists do change a lot, and you do get many suprises, but he does write a setlist before hand and there are some staples.

If you look at the setlists from the Working On A Dream tour you can see where some of the staples are. And there are some other things you notice too, such as if you don't get The Ghost Of Tom Joad, you'll either get Youngstown or Atlantic City.
