Not being conceited - just a bit jokey....

But the fact is the reason they played it for L&T was because they had been & r going to all (most) of the shows

Jon had seen them 3 times in the front row before Ostend, the blonde stuff was just a joke.... but the fact they r coming from Finland & making such a commitment motivated Jon to dedicate them a song!!

and when you are that close you can tell that many of the band members do communicate with you, even though you are still a few metres from the stage at the front gate

i noticed everyone but for Tico looking in my general direction, though i'm sure they weren't looking at me... except i realised something

when everyone is watching richie and jon to the left of the stage if you look at hugh/dave and throw your fist in the air they will usually acknowledge it - i think they apprecitate some attention when everyone would rather see jon wiggle his backside than they would actually watch the bass player (or even listen to richie's solos)

i dont think playign requests is all that rare but more like wot they played, jon could have easily dismissed 'id die for u' cos he hasnt played it in yonks, but he did!...i think the euro shows are gettign alot more unpredictable and bodes really well for hyde park and all the other shows...

seeing their banner probably did motivate Jon to play the song, I am not denying that. But Lots of fans have been to and are going to every show and have been doing it for years, so it's nothing new. (yes, in the the front row too!) It doesn't mean they automatically get special requests played! lol - In this case however, it is clear that Jon dedicated the song to L and T and I am NOT trying to take anything away from the girls, so lets get that straight.
I'm just saying that your comments could have offended other fans who would love to have their song played but might think that have no chance because they are not blonde and in the front row! Ok??


Letitrock - I usually stand in bewteen Jon and Hugh, that way you can look left and see Jon and look right and witness the experience that is the magic of the Dave/Hugh combo!

Not anyone with an English sense of humour....

But not everyone who posts here is English! I just felt bad for Allmike I guess. - It just reminded me of all the posts on backstage during the US tour which were about the young girls being brought up front at shows, a lot of peoples feelings were hurt pretty badly because they did not fit that criteria. However, maybe I overreacted to your comments. I will count to 10 next time before posting ok?!

1 thing i discovered is that many europeans, having met them, have what i would describe as very-English humour... in some ways more so than me
