Didn't it sell more copies than Bounce, the boxset and HAND?

Memory was a moderate hit ballad that the audience loves, the title track is something that Jon feels proud to have written, and WGIGO is a crowd pleaser. There's no denying that, no matter what opinion you may have of the song, if it's a crowd pleaser then it mean that A LOT of people care about it being played...
It's a big stretch and fact is, WGIGO goes over well. Any griping over how lame the song is should be opinion based, it goes over well. Not liking LH is one thing but assuming no one anywhere wants to hear it is a little too much.

For whatever reason, I really like the song. It's devoid of any real meaning or subject matter or social commentary and that's fine with me. No one's trying to reinvent the wheel, it's just goofy fun and is as close to an 80's style rocker as they've gotten. The crowd eats it up.

I should have rephrased my original post. I guess I should have said, they're not playing anything off of Lost Highway that people want to hear. I'll agree, Make A Memory worked well live. Whole Lot Of Leaving did as well. Lost Highway doesn't. We Got It Going On is just like Sleep When I'm Dead. It goes over well, but really, would anyone here miss it? I'd GLADLY have them bury that and replace it with another album cut from KTF, TD, Slippery or NJ.

The overwhelming opinion seems to be that if they buried Lost Highway, no one would much care. My point was, there are many things they could move around to give us a fantastic set list, and it's not remotely a stretch from where they currently are. And maybe they will. But when I see virtually the same show 2 nights in a row, I have my doubts.

I posted this on another thread. Would anyone be upset about this:

1. Bad Medicine
2. We Weren't Born To Follow
3. It's My Life
4. Roulette (Mix up with Get Ready)
5. Born To Be My Baby
6. Only Lonely (Mix up with Tokyo Road)
7. Superman Tonight
8. Lay Your Hands On Me (Mix up with Stick to your Guns)
9. You Give Love A Bad Name
10. Everyday (Mix up with Bounce)
11. Homebound Train (Jon on lead vocals) (Mix up with I Believe)
12. Always
13. Bed Of Roses (Mix up with I'll be there for you)
14. Hey God (Mix up with These Days)
15. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night (Mix up with Good guys don't always wear white)
16. Work For The Working Man
17. Wild Is The Wind (Mix up with One Wild Night)
18. Have A Nice Day
19. Wanted Dead Or Alive
20. Love's The Only Rule
21. Livin' On A Prayer
Encore:
20. Thorn In My Side
21. When We Were Beautiful
22. Keep The Faith (Mix up with In These Arms)

Use that and what gets taken out?
Blood On Blood
Lost Highway
We Got It Goin' On
Something For The Pain (acoustic)
Who Says You Can't Go Home

It isn't so much WGIGO itself, because you're right -- when it's happening, it isn't SO bad. It's just that IMO the band has so many better rockers (including some that haven't been out in a long time) that could be in that slot. Since WGIGO was a staple on the last tour, it seems like a switch would be an easy way to "mix things up" if you really intend to do that.

Mostof their other rockers aren't "feel good" though, which I think is the point of WGIGO.

I'd be exceedingly upset because you've taken Homebound Train away from Richie! Do you really think Jon's going to sing it with the same energy, power, conviction that we've seen in those first YouTube videos? And I guess you must be someone who doesn't want Richie to sing at all, because I don't see another song listed for him. I'm also a huge Blood On Blood fan and like the idea of it as an opener. I can't say whether it works or not, because I haven't seen it yet, but I'd sure like the chance to. And why on earth would you want to take out Something For The Pain?! I can't wait to see that! I think Jovi's great when they go acoustic, but I never thought we'd see something like those little acoustic sets from the TD tour again.

I like some of your additions a lot, but you're dreaming if you think Jon's going to do Always and BOR/IBTFY back-to-back night after night. And some of your this-or-thats aren't even the same kind of songs. Ending a show with KTF is a very different thing than with ITA, for example. And finally, in spite of creative numbering, that's still 24 songs. It remains to be seen if we're going to get shows that long. I think we SHOULD, but most of the shows on the arena leg on the last tour weren't 24 songs.

"Yes, Jon, we're all happy here at our Jovi show. Please pass the Kool-Aid."

My second:
Dear Jon, Bruce plays downer songs, and his fans don't all leave, go off the deep end and/or stop buying tickets. It can work. Really, it can!

I'll admit - I don't care for Richie singing. I think he's got a great voice, but I'm not there to see him sing. I'm there to see Jon sing and Richie play guitar.

As for Something For The Pain, eh, leave it in, take it out. I'll have to see how it works acoustically, but the original version was crap live.

The songs they replace with others don't have to be similar. In fact, that's exactly the point. Mix it up. Truth be told, the order really isn't all that important either. Again, just mix things up. I was just thinking off the top of my head. By all means, leave Blood on Blood in there. There's so much stuff they could move around.

Look, I love this band. That's probably why I'm so critical. But the sad and simple fact that no one likes to admit is, this band is pretty much on auto-pilot from Go. They have the lights, screens, effects, etc that are all perfectly in sync to give us a great show. Unfortunately, the down side is, they aren't willing to mess with that and that doesn't leave much room for audibles or changes.

Bruce audiences and Jovi audiences are quite different for starters. Second, they do player slower/serious songs (I wouldn't use downer) but party rock has been a part of Jovi's shows since the 80's, and I can deal with 2 of them a night in Bad Rx and WGIGO (which live I'll take over sleep). Always been suprised they didn't use Blame it On The Love... in that role at some point.
